WI State Park Lake Kegonsa SP (near Madison)

We were going to spend the weekend in Mirror Lake SP near the Wisconsin Dells, but wound up giving one of our daughters a ride to Milwaukee and would have been setting up in the dark. So we decided on Lake Kegonsa, a park we've heard about and seen the signs for many times in our travels.
The park is very nice, set on the lake, which is about 3000 acres. The sites (not on the lake) are nice and big, with plenty of trees for privacy. Good bathroom/shower facility. There's a nice beach, plenty of hiking trails, and pets are welcomed.
The town of Stoughton is nearby with a couple restaurants/bars and also a couple of antique/resale/consignment shops to explore.
We didn't bring the kayaks or bikes this trip as we had the dog along, but, at just under a 3 hour ride, we'll be heading back to this place in the future.
