Maxine and I are going to hit the road- 12 minutes ahead of schedule! An easy three hour drive to Omaha to stay at sister in laws this eve - then two long days and maybe some shopping along the way :)

SD, Omaha, KC, St. Lois, Nashville, Atlanta, Memphis, leads me to today, to find a good breakfast and decide over coffee the route for the rest of the way home. Amazing how easy this pulls. Stopped to camp last night for the first time and it took five min to set up camp! So much easier than tenting & the bed is amazing! I think I am going to enjoy glamping!

I slept like a babe - very comfortable! Of course I had a celebratory Martini - might have helped a bit!

No - I made my way through the ozarks in hopes of spending the night there - but was pouring rain so I kept driving until I hit freezing roads - so @ Joplin Missouri and a 9 hour drive home tomorrow to bet Tuesday’s snow!

Today’s Adventure and Lessons learned: Check weather forecast before you venture somewhere to explore.... I spent the night in a little campground in Mississippi - then ate for the first time at a Waffle House. What a fun restaurant with great coffee and yummy pecan waffles. I drove towards the Ozarks and took a back road in hopes of finding a cool spot to spend the night. I did find a great family restaraunt in arkansas and asked the waitress to bring me her favorites. Southern fried chicken, candied yams, green beans and bacon, pickled beets and sweet tea. Loved the meal and the southern hospitality. Unfortunately I was 1/2 down the long back road to oZarks when out of nowhere it began to rain - so the 120 mile drive took a bit longer but hey - my goal was to make this trip an adventure - and I did. I kept driving as it was pouring and pulled over at Joplin MO due to freezing conditions. Tomorrow I will make the last leg of the trip just in time to put Eagles Nest in her new home before the snow arrives. My Maxine has been a road warrior and as of today I am at about 2200 miles.

Congratulations! The snow has been falling half the day here, and was in your neck of the woods before getting to us so I figured you's run into some of it.
