Kicking horse campground is in Yoho National Park. It is only about 20 minutes from Lake Louise. This was our favorite campground of our trip this summer! The campground does not take reservations so we were able to get a site even though it was the height of the summer camping season during Canada's 150th celebration. Campground is wooded. Our campsite was next to a glacial stream. It has several restrooms and a centralized shower area. If you are unable to get a site at Kicking Horse your first day Monarch Campground is only about a mile down the road. Monarch does not have showers or flush toilets but you can use the facilities at Kicking horse.

Fun area. The family and I rafted the Kicking Horse River a few years back, before our Camp-Inn. I can't wait to go back to this area. Thanks for the tip on the campground.
