Our family tent camped here last weekend and had a great time. The park is small but lovely, with five short (~1 mile) hiking trails that meander along the river and up into the hills. Our site was surrounded by trees. It was pretty busy but there's so much vegetation that it was hard to even see our neighbors. No hookups or flush toilets, and sites appear to be back-in only. We stayed at site 30, which was right next to a water pump and just across from the pit toilets (neither of which we could see from our site). It was a beautiful 30-minute drive to Galena. No stores nearby, so we paid too much for firewood from a nearby vendor, but other than that it was great!

We've hiked there many times while enroute or on the way home from the Galena area. It's a beautiful little park.
Because it does not have flush toilets and showers, etc. we have not actually camped there. BUT, there's another great state park nearby - Lake Le-Aqua-Na - that has modern facilities and electric sites. Coincidentally, it's near the town of Lena. Check it out next time you get that way.

Thanks for the tip! I've seen pictures online, but don't know anyone who's been there. We will check it out!
