We don't see a lot of cyclists on the road (perhaps a couple per month), nor many teardrops (a similar number), so our recent find has double significance. We pull our teardrop with a cycling-themed van, so we were very intrigued by this home built teardrop shaped trailer with a ten speed bicycle painted on the back:

This is also as close as we ever get to finding anyone who is tag team bicycle touring like we are: the others all have one or more dedicated driver and one or more riders who generally cycle the entire distance. The last time we ran into a similar group was early in 2016, so these are an even rarer find!

The folks that own this camper live near Salem, OR and have cycled both of the cross country routes that Alea and I have cycled. What is even more interesting is that they rode the Northern Tier route, starting on August 1st, 2014. Alea and I commenced the same route on August 1st 2015!

We didn't get pictures of the owners (yet), but we are hoping that we will run into them tomorrow, as we will each being arriving at Maupin, OR, but by different routes. We are taking the high road, and they are taking the low road. We will likely get there first, as we are a lot faster and have a shorter distance to travel...
