Many Glacier (Glacier NP)

We loved this campground in Glacier. It has a little over a hundred sites. Sites 88-102 are generator free and some are along the river. Our site was a pull through and looked like most were. It was a big site and we could walk back to the river, site 68. Water and Bathrooms are spaced nicely. There is a lot of shade. Within walking distance is the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn where you will find a store with ice, firewood, & groceries. There is also a restaurant there but we did not try it. The store is where you buy laundry and shower tokens which you will find in the buildings behind the store. Pay phones are outside the store, 4 quarters gets 4 minutes. No cell reception until you back at the highway at Babb, MT. Even though we were not on the generator free loop this campground was quiet. It was very clean as were the laundry and shower facility. The Many Glacier Lodge was nearby and worth going into. Boat rides across Swiftcurrent Lake and Lake Josephine, canoe rentals, etc. a lot of hiking to Grinnell Glacier, Lake Grinnell, Iceberg Lake and many others. Beautiful part of the park, you should visit even if you camp somewhere else. Get there early for a site. After July 1 very early from what the campground host said. On Father's Day we got there by 9:00 am and had 10-15 to choose from. On our 3 week long trip this campground had 5 or 6 teardrops each day, no other Camp Inns.
