MN State Park Suggestions for Campsite near Northfield Minnesota

Has anyone stayed in Minnesota near the town of Northfield. We are planning on taking our TD to our daughter's graduation from Carleton and wanted to know where we should book. Any leads would be really helpful.

Well, you can camp in my drive way, about an hour away from Northfield.

Two state parks to consider: Sakatha Lake and Nerstrand Big Woods State Park. I have camped at both. Nerstrand is closer to Northfield.
Cannon Falls: Lake Byllesby Campground

West of Sakatha Lake there are numerous private campgrounds with various price ranges. I have never stayed at any of them.

Thanks Jean for the offer of your driveway! I made a booking at Nerstrand that looks nice! We are going to be there for 3 days driving to and from Carleton so I didn't want be too far.

 

Nerstrand has a nice shower building. The camping sites can be on the small side in the center row closer to the building. There are some nice outer perimeter sites.
