We recently had a campsite where a lot of fresh tree sap fell on our van and camper. We also had some old, hardened tree sap from similar bombings earlier this year. So I searched in the internet for a solution for removing it. Alcohol seems to do the trick (probably not beer or wine, but I bet some JB would put a dent in it). ;-)

One of the tips was to use Purell or another brand of antiseptic soap. It contains 70% isopropyl alcohol in a gel soap. We found a small travel size version, and a tiny amount of it took care of all the tree sap. The gel soap helps keep it in place, which helps when dissolving older, hardened sap.
