It is somewhere between the pump and the tank. There is only the strainer and the tank pickup in between. Could be a fitting that is loose and creating an air leak. Either way it is air is somehow getting into the intake line to the pump. I agree it would be strange that it was working and now...

Probably a freeze damaged water strainer. That is the round thing right below the water pump that has the clear plastic cover on it. Likely the clear plastic cover is busted from freeze damage and that is causing an air leak that does not let the pump draw water out of the pump. We are fixing...
