Let me add one more thing. The rain water enters the cabin while we are parked not while we are traveling down the road. This only happens during heavy rain. This has happened maybe 8 times in 230 nights of camping.
Yes, I have rain water enter my galley by running down the rear wall of the galley onto the upper shelving and into the footwell of the main cabin. Not much fun when your bed gets wet. As recommended by Craig I drilled five small holes in the aluminum channel inside both of the upper cabin...
Hi Jim & Jamie,
Enjoyed reading your journal. Hope we can get together again soon. Thanks for sharing ideas and additions to your trailer. Sometimes I feel like I am copying you. But if it works why not! Installed dividers in the upper galley storage yesterday. Plan on adding the plexiglass...
I have a Native Watercraft Ultamate14.5 fishing kayak. The boat weights 75 # and fits easily on the roof of our Outback. The boat is designed to be stable enough for stand up fishing and runs about $1000. Can be paddled solo or tandem. Good luck with your search. www.nativewatercraft.com
Jim & Jamie,
I'm sad we are going to miss the first annual MAUCICCO. Count us in for 2014. I know this is going to become the premier east coast gathering. Hope we can camp with you again soon.
Chris & Mindy here,
Some times I leave the front outside storage compartment doors open but usually they are closed and locked. Most of our camping has been in cooler temperatures. I'm sure the additional insulation of an Alcan cover would reduce condensation in our our interior storage. We...
Sarah Nell & Robert,
All joking aside, you should bring folding camp chairs, two dish pans (wash - rinse), a folding table for your dish washing station, and a pot to heat dish water. The Camp Inn sink is too small for dish washing.
Jim & Jamie,
Congratulation on reaching the 100 night milestone. We have enjoyed our five nights camping with you and look forward to more. We added nights 14 & 15 in "Spirit" last weekend at Prince William National Forest Park. How was "Paddle for the Boarder"? Love your Dutch oven lasagna...
We had a great trip to Necedah. Toured the Camp-Inn facility with Marty and got to climb into # 500 and inspect #000. We had 1-1/2" of rain in Indiana. Stayed dry in the TD. No leaks! Made it back to VA without trouble. I was worried about towing the TD through Chicago but it was not a problem...
A work of art. I just viewed the photos of #000 & #500. What an evolution. Now there is an American success story. We are headed to WI to pick up #527 - "Sprit". I am sure she will also be a work of art.
Oly,
We pick up our Ultra 550 on the 16th. We have a reservation at Ottawa Lake camp ground in the Kettle Moraine State for the 16th. Hope to see you on the road.
Sid,
We are scheduled to pick up on the 16th. It has been a long wait. Finally the end is in site. Hope to see you on the road criss crossing North America.
