I live just north of Austin. I35 is terrible in Austin. I would skip the traffic and take 130 (toll road (all electronic, so no toll booths) around the east side of Austin to Hwy 77. We are leaving Austin in the morning heading southwest to Garner State Park near Uvalde.
Went out for a week of hiking with my son last year at Big Bend National Park in TX. We had a good time, packed up and made the drive home. When we started to unpack, we discovered that we couldn't get either door to unlock on the camper. I remembered that I must have left one of the doors...
We just got back from a great trip to Palo Duro Canyon State Park in TX. We spent 5 days camping in the canyon. Weather was mostly sunny & beautiful during the days (mid-50's) and chilly at night (low 20's). There was no moon, so the star gazing was awesome! Had one day of crazy 35 MPH winds...

We are heading to Palo Duro Canyon for the first time in a couple months. Planning to stay at the Hackberry camping area and do some hiking in the canyon. Any tips or suggestions from previous visitors?
