    Lost Nut on Leveling Jack

I used a "roll pin", basically a rolled up piece of spring steel, unfortunately I don't remember the size. Take the cap to a hardware store that has those bins of small hardware and find the right size; it should be tight so that you have to use a hammer to push it in. Get more than one and keep...

    Charging Ebike From Teardrop Battery

Hmm, let me modify my answer a bit. Your ebike battery is 48V and 13 Ah, perfectly converted with no efficiency losses, would take 52 Ah from a 12V battery. The battery in your teardrop is something like 70 Ah all in, with actually more like 50 Ah usable without damaging the battery. The best...

    Charging Ebike From Teardrop Battery

What you need is a DC to DC Converter Battery Charger. I did a quick google for "DC to DC Converter Battery Charger 48v" and there are some possibilities. Be sure the charger you get is appropriate for the battery chemistry in you bike.

New Td Battery On Its Way

Well, I mis-spoke the BAT412110081 is not discontinued, just out of stock everywhere I look and not easy to find on their website; you gave me the clue to look for SuperCycle and I found it. I'll keep trying to find stock, but may opt for the Odyssey if I can't get one soon.

New Td Battery On Its Way

Our battery died and I am looking for a replacement. It looks like the Victron BAT412110081 is obsolete, the only Victron batteries that come close to fitting are only 66 Ah. I am bummed as this seems like an excellent technology. Does anyone have a source for the BAT412110081; every place I...

    Battery When Storing In Garage

As CampDude said, you should leave it plugged in all the time when not on the road. The built in charger will keep it in condition. Unfortunately, if the battery has been completely discharged, it is probably damaged. You can plug it in and it will probably charge up and seem to be OK, but its...

Not To Start An Argument But....new Tires Which One?

Mine are load range C, and ride fine. The difference between C and D is very little and if the D is all you can get, they should be OK.

Not To Start An Argument But....new Tires Which One?

I usually set to 32 at the beginning of an outing. The label on the trailer tongue says 30, but I prefer a little (but only a little) more.

Not To Start An Argument But....new Tires Which One?

I am a fan of Maxxis tires for trailers. I have them on my Camp-Inn as well as my car hauler. They can be hard to find sometimes.

    Favorite Leveling Blocks?

Both wheels off the ground is a bad idea. The leveling jacks are not designed to be stable in the side to side direction. At least one tire should be firmly on the ground to prevent sideways motion or the jacks could collapse.

    Furnace Questions About The Furnace

The compartment is 6" deep, 9" tall and 11" wide. Propane cylinders will fit, levelers probably not. Also note that there are a couple of reinforcing members in the corners that use a bit of space.

    Tesla

Here's an interesting solution. It's not a Camp-Inn but solves the range problem. Basically surge brakes plus. Towing with an EV: Are electric trailers the future?

    Auto Battery Load Disconnect

I have a similar device on the main battery in my tow. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0030A10V0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_M7BSFYR78JSGK0BA9KXE It disconnects the battery from everything if the voltage is too low, preserving enough to restart the engine. It has saved us several times, especially...

    Tesla

Another factor is how you charge when you get where you are going. If you camp in a spot with a hookup, the Tesla has adapters to charge from the standard RV plugs, no problem. If you are dry camping you need to plan ahead to get charged up before hitting camp, and still have enough to get back...

Fridge / Cooler Fridge Cycle Times/watts Used Per 24 Hours?

I carry an extra 50 Ah battery when we take the Dometic. It is in a closed box with a coulometer and volt meter, and I set it up to charge from the tow vehicle with a battery isolator when we are driving (also strapped down). I have put the fridge and the battery in a bear box and it keeps...

    Getting Buff!

I am a fan of the Nuvite Nushine products. They are available at Aircraft Spruce and other vendors, NUVITE NUSHINE II METAL POLISH | Aircraft Spruce I got a dual action polisher at Harbor Freight with a number of foam pads. I used a large piece of flannel material wrapped around the pad and...

    Tesla

I'm tempted to get a hitch for my Model3, just as an academic exercise to see what the range really is with a 560 behind. It certainly has the power to pull it, but the energy consumption is the big question. We tow with our Xterra because that is the vehicle we want to use when the 560 is at a...

    Lots of opinions on Canopies

Our last trip out our REI Alcove met with a damaging windstorm in the desert, ripping the fabric in one corner where the tie-down cord attaches. I tied it down directly to the canopy frame for the rest of the outing and that worked until we got home. I repaired the fabric cover at home by...

    Tail Light (update: Resolved)

The tail light module is simply held into the aluminum skin with a giant grommet; getting it out is pretty easy, work a putty knife or something under the grommet and work it out. Getting it back in is a bit more fiddly, but putting some dish soap on the grommet will help it skoosh back in. The...
