Thanks for the heads up Jack. Unfortunately, the old passwords were not able to be transfered. I am monitoring the number of users who have made it to the new site, and may put together an email to other users with tips for getting on the new site.

You are absolutely right, Frank. I misunderstood what the branding was all about - it is the footer and nothing else. The logo at the top can be anything we want it to be. I have a Unofficial Camp-Inn Forum logo in the works...

Oh yes, this is paid software. But the branding removal is an additional option that costs more than the original.

Color changes are easy. Removing the branding is pricey. :)

I miss the red (5) showing the number of unread posts in each section. I've added an unread posts tab at the top that shows all unread posts. Not exactly what we had before, but getting closer.

You're so crafty, rotus8 ! :) The Donate button will eventually make its way over.

As you know, the new site is live. You may notice that some features are missing: For example, Display Names are not currently enabled. This means that for the moment only your user name will be visible to others. The Interactive User Map and some other features are also not available yet...

Update: I just pulled the trigger to have all the data on this site professionally ported over to the new one. No firm timeline yet, but I expect things to happen soon. Thanks again for the contributions!

Guys, thanks so much for the support and donations! It looks like the professional help will be about $500. This will allow us to have all the users and posts from this site ported over to the new one - money well spent!

You're right, Frank - SQL gets messy quickly. I'm getting a quote to have this site professionally ported over to the new one. We'll see if it's an option.

I'm going to decide that tomorrow after I mess with SQL databases for a while.

With school finished for a while I have decided to go ahead with plans to upgrade the forum to modern software. The current software, though once cutting-edge, has been abandoned by the developer and has not received an update in over five years. This will be the biggest upgrade in the 6 year...

A personal update: Today I finished that last paper which means that my second year at the seminary is officially complete - halfway there! I've been assigned to do my vicarage (internship) year at Lincoln, NE, so we'll be packing up and moving in about a month. Since I've been so busy...

Two months ago the Camp-Inn Forum turned 5 years old, but I was too busy learning Hebrew to notice. So, a belated happy 5th birthday to the forum, and a big thank you to our 800+ members that make the forum what it is!
