    Jazz Fest New Orleans

Has anyone ever attended Jazz Fest in New Orleans? Has anyone ever camped while attending the Jazz Fest? Looking for pointers, tips, and experiences on both the festival and the camping, which I assume would be an RV park nearby.

    Block Ice

Block ice is more expensive and time consuming to make vs. cube ice, which is usually hollow, so it freezes faster (cheaper to make) and melts faster (buy more sooner). Ironically it seemed like block ice was everywhere and cheap when we were in Alaska 5 years ago. On longer trips when we take...

Leveling Jacks Where Is Leveling Jack?

Like these. They make different sizes and colors. Also work great for taking up excess Dometic cord, strapping garbage bag to bumper on a windy day, tying the Lucilight (sp?) to the propane tank, etc.

    Propane Issue

I’ve noticed that our tank does this if we open the valve all the way. It really only needs to be open about a revolution or so.

    Necedah Bound

We stayed at Perot State park too. Lots of great bicycling in the area. We were just getting interested in CampInn at the time and planned to stop at the showroom/factory on the way home. Coincidentally a CampInn owner was camped there and we got a tour of her camper, as well as a coupon!

Leveling Jacks Where Is Leveling Jack?

We changed from the crank to a socket wrench with, extension, and deep socket. Much more convenient. We use an orange twisty tie (purchased at Home Depot, hitting blank on proper name) to wrap around the ratchet and extension shaft, which stores nicely in the front storage compartment. When we...

100w Solar Not Enough Or Am I Doing Something Wrong?

If chasing sun is not what you want to do, position the panel to face south and position it in a place to get the best afternoon sun, even if that means it’s in the shade when you leave camp in the morning. I suggest a couple of extra extension cords. My panel (Zamp 120 watt) has a 15 foot...

New Gear & Bikes, Bikes & More Bikes

We like our 10 x 10 Eurmax which is still available. We have it over just the galley, which leaves us with sitting room if it’s raining. At night we back the camper under it so we can keep the vent open, the windows open, and get in or out without rain getting our legs all wet, while putting...

    Homer, Alaska

We camped near Homer for almost 2 weeks in summer of 2017. We really liked taking the water taxi Kachemak State Park. We went across 4 times. Might also suggest camping in McCarthy. The road was not near as bad as we had heard it could be. Took about 3 hours to travel the 60 miles. Camp at the...

    Dometic Fridge Cover Question

We like our Dometic insulating cover. I think it gives the frig more room to breathe in the back of the unit, as when pushed into the galley it creates a tad more space between the frig and backsplash. The Dometic cover has vent screens where the Dometic needs them. Those vents may not be in the...

Itinerary Tear Jerkers Munising Tourist Park Campground Pictured Rocks September 9-11

Don't think we can make it, but I'd suggest a Lehto's pastie, if you're coming up from the lower peninsula. They are located on US 2 about 7-8 miles west of the Mackinaw Bridge. Muldoon's in Munising is pretty good too. Mountain biking on Grand Island is nice. It's just a few minute ferry ride...

Not To Start An Argument But....new Tires Which One?

We have been happy with the Carlisle that we have on our trailer. Probably close to 15,000 miles so far. Wearing well. Ride is fine.

    Sink strainer

We just found sink strainer in a local kitchen store. They come as a set of 2. The smallest (1 1/4 inch) fits the CampInn sink perfectly! Seems like it was made for just that sink! It catches everything. The brand was RSVP International Endurance Mesh Sink Strainers.

    Traverse City Sighting

We just saw a CampInn on Hammond Road in Traverse City. Curious who it was, where they camped, and hoped they enjoyed our area! We were on the way home from getting groceries for our first outing this year. Only can get away for a few days, but we're excited about this years first camp.

    Oconee Week

We’re sorry we missed out on being the 3rd CampInn there when you were. Our hopes are to be there next April! The pictures look beautiful.

    TX, NM, AR National Parks

Not sure if the border from Big Bend to Mexico is open due to covid. We really enjoyed going to lunch in Boquillos, from Big Bend NP. Row boat ride across the Rio Grande and a short hike/mule/horse ride to town. Excellent food. Cost for 2 about $60. Take small bills as no one will have change...

    Battery Agm Vs Lithium

After 2 years the AGM battery that came with our CampInn failed. We replaced it with what the battery store said was a similar battery, a Duracell 80 amp battery. It too failed after 2 years, and the next 1 in another year. The last of the 2 batteries we took much care in not running down the...

    Where Do You Shower?

We use our Zodi. We have a free standing shelter we use over the galley, for rain or sun. We put the walls up for privacy. We shower over a collapsible water basin, catching most of the water in it. We use the shower for washing hair, then mostly sponge bath.

    Where Do You Shower?

We like our Zodi shower. Fits just right on the stove. Heats to 100 degrees in a few minutes. If not in a private site we’ll shower in our Eurmax shelter with the walls up.

    How Do You Store Clothes?

We like using the packing cubes. I’ve labeled mine and tend to keep them in a certain order. I can find everything quickly. We keep a dirty clothes bag in the car. I like getting clothes from outdoor stores. Underwear that is quick drying can be washed between laundry stops if needed. Wool socks...
