    Front wheel jack

I do own several of these Tongue Jack Chocks. Handy for boats, trailers. They came from Menards, < $5. Our 550 also leaked on both ends of our galley “gutter” and I stored a dry towel at each end to catch drips. Easy to check and avert a bad water problem. Definitely inside storage is...

    Front wheel jack

This Tongue Jack Chock works great… It goes under the tongue jack wheel every time the camper unhooks from the TV. It makes for very smooth and easy moving around on a concrete floor. I got it obviously for camp set up use, but it’s great at home in the garage. When on the road it stores easily...

Wood Paneling Mahogany vs Bamboo Finish

OK… I’m not bashing Mahogany wood or broken tibias either. Mahogany is one of the classic, old fashioned veneers. If it’s good enough for pianos, it looks great in a camper. And contrasting types of wood are fantastic. And best of all it is real wood veneer, as opposed to the photo oak...

Table Extension How Do You Store The Table Extender For Travel?

We threw in the towel too. I made a sleeve for the table extension which sits on the table on the counter just fine. I made another one for the side table too, since that and cooler both get rub marks. Keeps everything from getting scratched as we travel those wonderful back roads.

Wood Paneling Mahogany vs Bamboo Finish

Those Texas mosquitoes were beyond Therma-cell. Don’t mean to bash Texas either. Sea Rim State Park was awesome during the daytime. See Photos.

    Favorite Leveling Blocks?

Rotus8- Technically you are right about that. We are usually down to earth on one side. Some sites have had us with both wheels up. Actually, I think the camper rocks less when both jacks are down tight. Also a bit harder for someone to make off with the camper when you aren’t around...

    Favorite Leveling Blocks?

I just use a round chock on the tongue end jack wheel to keep from rolling anywhere. See photo. Then get some weight on both back jacks (with a power drill) BEFORE I unhook. Then level up from there with a socket wrench. Once you are off the ground in back you don’t really need any blocks...

Wood Paneling Mahogany vs Bamboo Finish

My two cents on the darker paneling: Mosquitoes become virtually invisible on a Mahogany background. Our 550 is #543, so ours is the original “oak” paneling. We have spent many nights in our camper. Once camping in east Texas on the ocean, we found swarms of mosquitoes as soon as the sun...

Spring Trip In Our New 550

Leaking like this must be fairly common when those three things come together all at once. The lower pressure on the top side seems to actually open the galley if it’s not fully closed and locked, when traveling at highway speeds. I was reading some posts about that last night. One person...

Spring Trip In Our New 550

Hi guys. Classic 550 -#543 here. We had water under our mattress a couple years ago too and couldn’t figure where it was coming from. See photos. It was leaking when we were driving in the rain or even wet pavement. This has been solved! Craig suggested some caulking in the wheel wells...

    New Owners - 2012 550 Ultra - Central Oregon

Hello Jay and Celia... Hello Will and Diane... We are the original owners of CampInn #543! Our Classic 550 must have been the quiet, plain sibling in the group on the other side of the shop. We are located in Wisconsin about an hour south of CampInn International Headquarters. Jay-when we were...

    No More Yellow Drain Caps!

It's just the cap that comes with the original Campinn valves on each tank. It's a nice backup (excuse the pun) The lever could be bumped or not closed completely? It was nice when my yellow one quit working reliably. I just kept the yellow one on the fresh water, never was any problem. I've...

    No More Yellow Drain Caps!

Gilmour alert: Blain's Farm & Fleet has 10% off on all Gilmour stuff this week! That would get it down to $4.00 even. Almost worth driving to Wisconsin?

When is it safe to use the water tank?

Hi guys... Back to the freezing water. We took off from Wisconsin one winter to the Texas gulf coast and found our faucet cartridge was broken. Not sure how or when. Our garage barely gets below freezing. We had been zinged once in New Mexico when it was cold one morning, but it thawed out...

Broken Lp Tank Bracket! Look Yours Over...

Hi guys... We had one and then two of the feet on our stainless LP tank holder crack right thru the holes... It looks like it could happen to any Campinn Camper. Could be worse if you tried a 20# tank on there! - Below are pictures of our situation and how it got repaired. First...

Custom Strap Handles for the Dometic Refrigerator

Hi... I can add two more cents here. We get along just fine with NO handles of any sort on our CF35 Dometic. There are nice handholds on each end just below the grey upper portion of the cooler. They are over a 1/2" deep and 9" long with plenty of room for four fingertips on each side. We have...
