Bear, does that mean you are at the end of the second set of tires, or into the third set? Hilditch

    Tastes Like Trusello Bread

“THE NY Italian Bread” For a Dutch oven Many years ago in Niagara Falls, NY there was a bakery called Trusello Bakery. They made the most wonderful bread and bakery pizza. Trusello’s bread was so good I spent years trying to recreate it and the pizza, and here is...

    Grand Isle

Re: Vermont NE Kingdom campground Dave, We stayed at Grand Isle St. Park on a water front site. Got to watch a red moon rise over Lake Champlain and a friendly coon finish off our chicken bones after making a very small hole in the garbage bag. Somehow he knew right where they were. Much...

    Cooler & side table packing

If you have a 54 qt. Coleman, the CI side table goes up-side down on the top of the Coleman just fine. Fits fairly snug and can't go far.It isn't longer than the Coleman. Did you push the stove in? Hilditch

Beer Fest Pics, Campout in Ellensburg, WA

The New Orleans KOA still has a few open sites for Mardi Gras, but fortunately New Orleans does not have any 5 oz. beer glasses. Yup, we will be there! Hilditch

Eagle Watching on the Mississippi River

Real nice shots Ken. Speaking of turkeys, we had a herd of adult males - 3' tall with their heads up - in the front yard yesterday. When asked about dinner, for some reason Susan wanted turkey so we had the last of Thanksgiving out of the freezer. Ben was a practical man and turkeys sure do...

    Logging Miles

On one or two stop trips the mileage is easy to log. On long multi-campground trips I don't log every leg but instead take the total trip mileage and give the CI 75% or 80% of the miles depending on how I feel about the side trips. This works and is very exact, trust me. Hilditch

    Logging Miles

Confirmed. After a week of additional consideration, this award should only be available to those who have put 25K miles on the CI tires. Side trip miles are BS! Hilditch

    Logging Miles

Cool ideas Evan! Thanks for the work. Although we have 21,892 miles on the CI and way too many miles on side/touring trips to qualify for the 25K pin, I'm hesitant to claim it based on the side miles. All our side miles have been day trips, but I'm sure some park it & run off for days in a...

Snow, Salt and the Camp-Inn Teardrop

Those white spots are aluminum oxide, not salt, where the salt has been eating the aluminum. I would give it a shot IF I had a coat of Woody Wax AND the Metal Protectant on the tear. However, I would leave the bra home and give it a bath as soon as I got home. It will be interesting to...

    Cats and the cover

It's OK George. Your safe. I guess if you are going to eat them, it's OK to shoot other critters, just not for the sport of it. Hilditch

    Cats and the cover

I'm only willing to shoot critters that hunt for sport. Domestic cats and some humans. ALL other critters are off limits and deserve to live. Hilditch

Making Your CI Look New Experiment Completed

Dave, It sounds to me like Sharkhide Protectant is much closer to a lacquer clear coat than a wax. If so, it would/should outlast Woody Wax & Sealant. Did you get the impression you were putting on a thin clear coat? Hilditch

    May Camp Inn collection trip

There are many places to hide booty in a camper and that is why customs doesn't inspect many of them without reason. After many border crossings and personally knowing a couple of customs agents we never had any issue, or booty. The agents don't care where you were born. They are looking...
