Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

Hi Seth, That is a very helpful and apt description. Thank you! I don't use a fridge so that won't be an issue. I normally use very little of the house battery - occasionally the lights for brief periods but prefer other lighting solutions and the fan only when it's really warm which...

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

Great point about the battery operating temp. According to their website (Renogy) I am good down to 5 degrees F with one of the batteries and -4 F with the other. Probably a question for Craig, but I wonder if it's possible to shut off the main battery switch and bypass the charger and house...

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

I hear ya. They each weigh about 25 pounds. I will only use this set up for the really cold weather camping.

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

I do have a portable solar generator (ie battery with built in inverter) but it only has around 450 watt hours capacity, between the 2 12 volt 100AH lithium batteries I have roughly 2400 watt hours which would be a heavy and expensive solar generator to match this capacity. For now I think the...

Hello All After A Long Absence

I haven't been active on the site now for a couple of years having dealt with health issues with me wife, camping has taken a bit of a back burner however I'm now in a better place to get out in nature on a regular and hope to gain insights from those who are staying active with their camping...

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

Last weekend I went out to my favorite camping area in Maryland - Green Ridge State Forest. The temperatures got down to the mid 20s over night. With a nice winter sleeping bag and a hot water bottle in the bag I was toasty warm sleeping all night however getting up and out of the sleeping bag...

Electric Brakes Electric Brakes, W/park Useful?

That's how I felt about the brakes altogether. I don't regret omitting them from the build. With my current tow vehicle (Subaru Ascent), the 1000 pounds doesn't alter the stopping distance very much - at least not that I've been able to detect.

Need Help With Adding Photos To A Post

I have the same issue. I found a work around which is to have 2 windows open side by side - one is your message and the other is the photos folder. You can drag and drop from the the photos folder into your message. It isn't elegant but worked for me.

    Dfw 560 Ultra Raindrop

The rooftop tent is a new option with the camp inn. I'm not sure how many units they've sold but I don't recall seeing any feedback on this forum. I'm sure there are a lot of folks who'll be interested to hear how this option works. Keep us posted!

    Dfw 560 Ultra Raindrop

I'm a little surprised to hear that but it does make sense. There are a couple of good reviews of the 560 on Youtube. For what it's worth, I took the plunge and put in my order for a new 550 without having seen one firsthand. No regrets.

Call Camp-Inn. They keep a list of folks all over the country that are willing to show their trailers.

SOLD For Sale 2017 Model 560 Brand New

I got the accessible handles on my 550 which I'd recommend for anyone. I don't have a disability but they are a nice place to grab getting in and out and are a place from which one can hang things. I think it would be a challenge to handle it all solo (ex. connecting and disconnecting the...

When is it safe to use the water tank?

I think that some of the group sites have porta-pots but for the most part the answer is no. A decent shovel is definitely handy to have. I was out there again a week and a half ago and had a great time.

    Photo Test

I just tried again to "upload a file" (ie a pic). It still doesn't work for me. However, I've been able to open 2 windows and drag and drop pics from my pictures folder into a message and have it upload.

    Tripod Mountable Light

I recently added a new piece of gear that so far (2 trips) is working very well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KQ309BU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I like that I can mount it on a tripod and direct the light in pretty much any direction. I typically run paracord...

    Need Help Photos Won't Upload

Hi Evan, It's actually from my laptop. I haven't been able to use the "upload file" function but was just able to get some pics to upload by dragging them from my photos folder and dropping into the message. It's a bit of a work around but works ok. I hope you're doing well in Connecticut! Ben

    The Adventures Of Tipitina

I thought it would be fun with this thread to post camping log entries. Unfortunately my computer system isn't playing well with the forum and I can't post pics. Anyhow here is the latest entry: Green Ridge State Forest March 23-24, 2019 Nights camped: 1 Total Nights Camped: 58 Miles driven...

    Need Help Photos Won't Upload

Has anyone else had trouble uploading jpegs? I select a photo and see a couple of vertical bars (looks like it's uploading) then nothing happens. I tried a different web browser and same problems. Thanks.
