Many cruise control systems shut off upon detecting wheel slip. Which most times an operator can view the situation ahead and should be letting off the gas and slowing down before cruise control throws you into it at 55 60 !! Not the best to drive in adverse conditions with cruise control.

Many of your newer vehicles today have built in vehicle stability assist especially with AWD models. Previously owned 2006 Honda Ridgeline had the VSA I experienced it in action more than once on black ice although I was not towing at the time. Amazing how VSA kept me centered and straight...
