Wood Paneling Mahogany vs Bamboo Finish

those wood samples all look great, and I bet you will be happy with what ever you choose. wood and wood finishes are just a very subjective and personal choice item. I am very fond of quarter sawn oak, and birds eye maple, although I suspect (at least for my use) that the latter would be the...

Wheel Bearing Maintenance Based On Time (or Mileage)

I don't doubt for a second that this, or something similar is the best answer. I don't believe anyone here could argue that. I also believe I've seen a quote or two from Cary giving an even wider window for bearing maintenance. OTOH, and more realistically, my 550 has no odometer, and being...

Wheel Bearing Maintenance Based On Time (or Mileage)

I'm curious as to what the general Camp Inn owning public does for wheel bearing maintenance? And based on time or mileage or something else. A bit of this post is a re-run for me, but in short, purchased a 2014 550 back in March 2020. It was generally well cared for as best I can tell, but...

Full-size Spare Tire Carry Option For Outback Tv And Ci

Yep ---- I'm replying to my own post. Specifically in regards to the Davis Willow trail URL/link I had shared above. The owner of that domain/web site has chosen to eliminate the Davis Willow page that I had provided a link to (above). Its their site, and it is certainly their right to do...

    SUV Off-Road Tow Vehicle Question

Ex-VW diesel Jetta owner here. I've also frequently heard that about the automatic. The story I've frequently been told regarding poor transmission reliability is that the automatic wasn't a VW or even of European origin. I've been told that it was from an asian source, but I can't remember...

    SUV Off-Road Tow Vehicle Question

that joke seems to be a US thing. Last time I went to Europe, the only way to rent a vehicle with an automatic transmission was either to be handicapped or be from the States.

    Getting Buff!

Thank you for the suggestion. If my current list of new items to try do not play out well, I will definitely give that a spin. Also, love your tow vehicle, I know our tear drops are ultra light, but some of the stuff I see people tow with here scare the **** out of me and I fear for them.

    Getting Buff!

more notes - I probably need to purchase a wool pad. I've polished a lot of metal, but most of my work in the past has been by hand or with smaller equipment. most of the tutorials suggest doing the least aggressive, but only working up to more aggressive methods when lesser methods do not...

    Getting Buff!

thank you for the feedback. My above disclaimer stands, but I'm wondering if it isn't the specific aluminum alloy used. I've got other aluminum items, that seem to generally do an exceedingly good job of holding their polish. Nothing last forever, especially without a protective coating...

    Getting Buff!

disclaimer - before I stick my foot in my mouth here, please don't read in-between the line. I'm very happy with my Camp-Inn 550, the materials used and also the awesome support. That out of the way, I'm specifically asking, because conventional methods I've used haven't been very effective on...

    Getting Buff!

When you did your polish, did you use a cutting pad? Or something else? Multiple steps with multiple pads? I'd like to get mine polished out, and I'm curious for your details on what worked for you. Thanks.

thank you for the pic. Extra request, can you do a straight side view picture? Can you say more on the Blue Magic? Is that the stuff to get to a mirror finish?

Electrical/gauge Issues W (1) Of Three Tow Vehicles When Towing My 2014 550

Thank you for the post/comment, but I'm not sure what the "south main auto" reference is. I'm relatively new here, is there a thread I need to read to get/understand the comment ?

Electrical/gauge Issues W (1) Of Three Tow Vehicles When Towing My 2014 550

Great minds thinking alike. Even for a very basic electrical systems like my Dodge, where most engine systems are mechanical, I'm immediately focused in on grounds. Bad ground issues can just cause all kinds of bad and weird problems.

Electrical/gauge Issues W (1) Of Three Tow Vehicles When Towing My 2014 550

Hello Cary and thank you for the reply. Sorry if my initial post was confusing. I'm seeing erratic behavior from the dash gauges in the Dodge D350, regardless of whether the lights are turned on or off. Sorry for the poor verbiage in my initial post.

Electrical/gauge Issues W (1) Of Three Tow Vehicles When Towing My 2014 550

Electrical/gauge issues w (1) of three tow vehicles I'm focusing this on Cary, but happy to have any thoughts or comments from anyone. Disclaimer - when towing, I always make every attempt to be as safe as possible, and always check brake lights, turn signals, etc to confirm they are...

    550 / 560 [tools] Robertson/square Head Screws On My 550

As noted in my signature, my 550 is a 2014, and has the square head/Robertson screws. I'm a big fan of hex head ones, but I have no problems/issues with the ones Camp Inn installed. I just wanted to have the correct tools necessary, in case I needed them. A man can never have too many tools...
