Mr Heater Buddy Connection To Aux Propane Port?

Stay warm! I somehow must have ended up with a defective CI regulator or defective Mr. Heaters, regardless I feel fortunate to only need the Ci pigtail and a Coleman extension hose.

    Update We Did It!

Lithium batteries tend to provide power at their rating until they are well down in their discharge range. This is important if you are running the Dometic because it has a low voltage shut off.

Mr Heater Buddy Connection To Aux Propane Port?

The regulator is on the CI tank. I connect only hose to the appliance (zoom on the pictures in my prior posts. I typically use the fuel filter. I have had no problems using appliances with a regulator such as a grill or propane fireplace (both are high flow, the heaters burn a little fuel).

Mr Heater Buddy Connection To Aux Propane Port?

I just went out and verified the operation on a Big Buddy. Adapter pigtail and an 8’ extension, connected to CI port, turned on tank, purged line, connected to appliance, held appliance knob down for 15 seconds, clicked to pilot, held knob down till pilot was self sustaining, turned on heater...

Mr Heater Buddy Connection To Aux Propane Port?

From a Christmas Story: “You’re going to shoot your eye out”. I bleed the hose by depressing the hose valve pin until gas comes out. Guess what could happen if there is a nearby ignition source and proceed accordingly. The safe method is to hold the appliance primer down for 5 to 10 minutes.

Mr Heater Buddy Connection To Aux Propane Port?

I connect the desired extension to the QD adapter, plug the QD adapter into the trailer, bleed the hose, connect it to the appliance. I also make sure to hold the appliance primer down for about one minute so the pilot light ignites (and hold it down longer if needed, Buddy Heaters are touchy...

Mr Heater Buddy Connection To Aux Propane Port?

I have three Mr Heaters: Buddy, Big Buddy, and the “new” BuddyFlex.I have had no problems. Depending upon the length of extra hose used I do bleed the hose until I smell/see gas, then connect the appliance. I do use the fuel filter. Please, no safety comments (A Christmas Movie: You’re going to...

Filling Fresh Tank In Camp With 10l Folding Bucket

The host was actually pretty good. I politely discussed my “error” with him which is why he was willing to say why the NPS didn’t care about bear resistant containers, everything goes in the car if you are not at the campsite: water bottles, jugs, ice chest, boxes, toiletries, etc. whether in a...

Filling Fresh Tank In Camp With 10l Folding Bucket

It’s a “courtesy notice”. To put some bark into it they include the penalty for approaching and harassing wildlife, think of people getting a selfie with a grizzly: Willfully approaching within in 50 yards (150 feet ), or any distance that disturbs or displaces a bear or elk, is prohibited...

Filling Fresh Tank In Camp With 10l Folding Bucket

So dry campers don’t shortcut things at 2am and water the bushes? Bureaucrats. This summer I was dry camping in a National Park and got a bear ticket. I had a grizzly bear rated cooler I only used for ice. It was doubly pad locked per back country regs. The host told me that he didn’t like...

    Water Filter

I built my confidence in water treatment tablets at Philmont Scout Ranch. The water supply on the third night was a cow pond with the cows in it. We doubled down on the tablets and no one got sick. The worst campground water set up was in a US Forest Service campground in New Bern, NC. The fresh...

    External Diesel Heater?

Forgot to mention the deflector. It is about 10x10 on the bottom side of the condensation layer. The Zodi temp is not too hot at the exit point.

    External Diesel Heater?

I have dryer vents, left and right. They flare on top of the anti condensation layer. The air does draw well from the floor opening, through the dryer vents and out via the roof fan, or vice versa.

    External Diesel Heater?

Years ago I experimented with a Zodi Tent Heater. It uses a heat exchanger to heat air which a small fan blows through a dryer pipe. There is little chance of CO entering the cabin. I put an inlet into the floor of the CI and the warm air came in under the mattress and circulated via the anti...

Filling Fresh Tank In Camp With 10l Folding Bucket

I have a six inch extension and a valve on my gray water tank. This makes it easy drain the tank into a five gallon collapsable water container. I can then take the container to the dump station or toilet. Unfortunately my container has a pin hole that I have yet to fix and in dry campgrounds I...
