    2023 Ford T250 9-passenger Conversion Van

Sounds like it will be a comfy ride! I'm sure it will tow the teardrop without any issue. I wonder how hard it would be to remove the seats if/when you go on a long trip and use that space for camping gear?

    2023 Ford T250 9-passenger Conversion Van

Having gone from a Subaru Outback to a Subaru Ascent, I can say that it is a lot nice towing with a vehicle designed to tow heavier loads. I often felt like I was pushing my outback a bit too hard going up mountains and braking - not so with a larger low vehicle.

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

I think you could make it work - if you removed the axel of the teardrop and welded the teardrop to the top of that generator and with some ladders it could be perfect. While running the genny you'd get the benefit of vibrating the rig - sort of like those beds in cheap motels where they'd...

    Misc Stereo Option: Opinions?

This is kind of an old thread but perhaps worth reviving as technology is always changing. It's neat for me to see how many different ways folks enjoy their campers. My preference for music is portable bluetooth speakers. I purchased a Bose Revolve + a couple of years ago. I enjoyed the...

84,780 Miles, 560 Nights Over 8 Years And Still Loving It!

It's so great to hear of what a value this trailer has been for you. I'm approaching the 100 night mark - probably the next trip in mid January now that MLK is a holiday I may have a 3 day weekend trip in store. Another hobby of mine is diving and for many the 100th dive is celebrated by...

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

I haven't used a fridge (yet) with the teardrop so I may be missing some of the good aspects of it however I have been pretty happy with my Rtic 50 quart. To those unfamiliar with this brand - I'd say it is a knock off of Yeti for about half the price. I usually use a couple of tall...

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

I hadn't thought of a portable ice maker! That's a great idea while out boon docking. I thought of getting one for the house rather than repairing our fridge while we wait for a new fridge. Any idea how many watts one of these draws? That could be a reason to consider an even larger inverter...

Hello All After A Long Absence

Maryland is temperate enough that we can kind of camp year round - I've not seen any below zero temps in the 24 years I've lived here and rarely are we in the single digits. I enjoy winter camping for the most part. Since discovering electric chainsaws, getting enough firewood to stay warm...

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

Hi Seth, That is a very helpful and apt description. Thank you! I don't use a fridge so that won't be an issue. I normally use very little of the house battery - occasionally the lights for brief periods but prefer other lighting solutions and the fan only when it's really warm which...

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

Great point about the battery operating temp. According to their website (Renogy) I am good down to 5 degrees F with one of the batteries and -4 F with the other. Probably a question for Craig, but I wonder if it's possible to shut off the main battery switch and bypass the charger and house...

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

I hear ya. They each weigh about 25 pounds. I will only use this set up for the really cold weather camping.

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

I do have a portable solar generator (ie battery with built in inverter) but it only has around 450 watt hours capacity, between the 2 12 volt 100AH lithium batteries I have roughly 2400 watt hours which would be a heavy and expensive solar generator to match this capacity. For now I think the...

Hello All After A Long Absence

I haven't been active on the site now for a couple of years having dealt with health issues with me wife, camping has taken a bit of a back burner however I'm now in a better place to get out in nature on a regular and hope to gain insights from those who are staying active with their camping...

Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

Last weekend I went out to my favorite camping area in Maryland - Green Ridge State Forest. The temperatures got down to the mid 20s over night. With a nice winter sleeping bag and a hot water bottle in the bag I was toasty warm sleeping all night however getting up and out of the sleeping bag...

Electric Brakes Electric Brakes, W/park Useful?

That's how I felt about the brakes altogether. I don't regret omitting them from the build. With my current tow vehicle (Subaru Ascent), the 1000 pounds doesn't alter the stopping distance very much - at least not that I've been able to detect.

Need Help With Adding Photos To A Post

I have the same issue. I found a work around which is to have 2 windows open side by side - one is your message and the other is the photos folder. You can drag and drop from the the photos folder into your message. It isn't elegant but worked for me.

    Dfw 560 Ultra Raindrop

The rooftop tent is a new option with the camp inn. I'm not sure how many units they've sold but I don't recall seeing any feedback on this forum. I'm sure there are a lot of folks who'll be interested to hear how this option works. Keep us posted!

    Dfw 560 Ultra Raindrop

I'm a little surprised to hear that but it does make sense. There are a couple of good reviews of the 560 on Youtube. For what it's worth, I took the plunge and put in my order for a new 550 without having seen one firsthand. No regrets.

Call Camp-Inn. They keep a list of folks all over the country that are willing to show their trailers.

SOLD For Sale 2017 Model 560 Brand New

I got the accessible handles on my 550 which I'd recommend for anyone. I don't have a disability but they are a nice place to grab getting in and out and are a place from which one can hang things. I think it would be a challenge to handle it all solo (ex. connecting and disconnecting the...
