Solar + batteries are the way. But tbh if your grid is reliable, it's not really cost effective to have a big battery. I thought about adding batteries to my solar setup and it made zero sense since we lose power about once every five years.

Ngl I think battery longevity for EVs is an overblown concern. You'll get less range but it will still run. Contrast that with having to rebuild an engine at some point north of 250k miles on a gas car. I will tell you from personal experience that towing with an EV is an absolutely terrible...

Not going to lie, I think having a separate LiFe battery with a display showing state of charge that you can discharge to 0% makes using the Dometic way less stressful.

Yeah I've found that I get ~19mpg with our 6 cylinder Outback towing the CI. Hilariously, we actually get only 17 in city driving without towing.
