REI Alcove is going on sale!

Sarah, Do you know if this is going to be online or in store sale. I do like the idea of the Alcove and at a lower price...$30 off it is a good deal. Steve

    TV/DVD Television

Funny you mention TV problems. I have just gone thru some real headaches with mine.....Thanks to Cary for all his help. During my travails, I surfed for all the 12vdc TVs I could find. There was a direct replacement for $199. This was the lowest. The rest were from $225 to $325. Cary mentioned...

    Value Added

I and Cary have been working thru some most curious electrical phenomena. He has responded daily with tips and hints. Jon Lauckner is the Chief Technology Officer at GM. I would not expect the the CTO of GM to answer me via email, but you cannot even get this kind of help from your local car...

    Aluminum cleaner by JJV's Best?

I'd like to tell you what I did. I polished the rear area below the hatch. I took off the tail lights, the license plate and bracket, and the bumper. I polished to a smooth reflective finish. I then coated with sharkhide protectant. I was tired of this area looking so bad from the kitchen use...

    Isolator Battery Isolator?

The relay was picked up at the local auto parts store. I think it was 10 amp rated. I wired the coil to the lighter circuit. I took a heavy gauge wire, 10awg or 12awg, from my battery thru the relay to the 7 pin connector at the rear of the car. When the car ignition is on the relay is closed...

    Aluminum cleaner by JJV's Best?

Looks interesting and not pricey. I wonder if Cary has tried this? Steve

    Isolator Battery Isolator?

I added a relay in the tow vehicle that closes when the ignition is on. This relay closes the circuit from the battery in the TV to the TD via the trailer plug. Total cost of about $12. I know that I will have to add this relay to each TV. But it is easy to do when I wire the TV for towing. Steve

    Camping Catalyst

George, Charlie, thanks. I have been off line for various reasons over the last few months. The next couple of months I want have much free time but a new air card and computer will make my absences fewer and shorter. Steve

    Camping Catalyst

Pat, I welcome you back to camping. I remember as a child in the late 50s, having everything my Dad and brother and I could use for a few days while in the woods hunting, jammed, crammed, folded, stored or tied onto the outside of a WWII jeep. We would begin our odysseys when the leaves were...

Seen in Nashville, do you know who this is?

On of my guys took this picture to show me. He did not realize it was a Camp-Inn. Anyone out there recognize the truck? Steve

    satellite dish mount

We use Direct TV. I use a tripod and several feet of cable to get to a clear view of the southern sky. It can be a snap to set up or it can seem to be very tedious if there are lots of trees. I used Dish for a while. When we went to Direct for HD in one room, it became easier. There is no skew...

    Embarrassed or Proud

Barry, I have also noticed the "babe magnet" thing. It seems there some who walk in the campground early without intending to talk to anybody.....but the teardrop is to much of an allure. Well I have had some women attempt to pull this up or pull that down as they attempt to remain modest as...

    Camping in hot weather

Betsey, You mention as people begin to see these little trailers the novelty may wear off. We have noticed several people who have said "Oh yeah, I have seen these." Then they take a closer look and realize they have never seen one of these. As you know, the Camp-Inn is not your ordinary TD. Steve

    550 / 560 Feedback On Options/accessories

Pat, All good answers. I added the receiver hitch. I like it. We use a cargo carrier. On it we carry an ice chest, Webber grill and the Camp Chef oven. We have a 550 with the handibars. I use them "all the time". They are for my wife but they allow me to pull my self up to a sitting position...

    Key Blanks

Where is a good place to get new keys cut for the front storage on the Camp-Inn's that have that storage? We have few choices in my small town, but Nashville is close by. The local W-M does not carry this blank. Thanks, Steve
