I figured someone would want details on this. For the most part the complaints of devices not working with our hoses were very random. Typically BBQ grills and camp stoves. Random but very often. The hose would work for the customer on one appliance and then no gas flow on a different appliance...
Ya, not the same. The Coleman one is just a hole with what looks like a bronze screen in it. That is more the normal fitting. The MH fitting actually has a valve that needs to be pushed in on to open up to let gas flow into it. This completely explains it then. Sweeney did mention his hose has a...
Aha!!! This solves it. Mr Heater has a one way valve of some sort on the fitting. Never seen anything like this before. That explains why the Camp-Inn provided hose is not working then. Because we pull the Schrader valve out of the hoses to make sure they will work with a broad range of gas...
So, here is a question for those who have a Buddy heater. Does the 1lb propane connection fitting have some sort of Schrader valve in it? Are they somehow having two Schrader valves push against each other? Normally a gas appliance has a pin with a small hole in the end that pushes on the...
Excellent picture showing the Schrader valve in position vs the valve being absent. Removing the valve requires a Schrader valve removal tool, it is a cheap common little tool.
We have also wondered if that valve (when it is properly opening all the way) is still maybe a flow restriction for...
Let's not forget Bob's question here by the way. This type of 1lb bottle replacement hoses would normally come with a Schrader valve in them. The gas appliance has a pin in the fitting that pushes in on the pin in the valve to open it up when connected. What we found out years ago is the length...
Any of the Camp-Inns that have a external gas port have a 20psi regulator at the tank so would have approximately 20psi on the hookup hose.
It is starting to sound like there must be some other component inside this heater such as a pressure check valve or something that is causing an issue...
The internal regulator on a Buddy heater is supposed to be high pressure, not a low pressure 11" regulator. I believe the assumption is that the internal regulator is 20psi which would explain why the Camp-Inn direct hose would not work to the 1lb fitting. But, Steve's experiment of putting...
Yes, Dustin is right. Coker tire is the place to go for wide white walls. That is were Camp-Inn gets it's wide white wall tires for our tire option. Really great people at Coker.

There are models of Trailer Valet that will work with our campers. The base model bolts to the frame and won't work with ours. But, the other models do because they use a ball and you just lock that into your coupler.

Perfect break down of the different models Steve.
This is all good timing, I have been looking to get one myself.
If going to the LP tank this may be a good application for a LP Y fitting like this...
Steve,
This is a interesting one indeed. Did a little digging into the Mr Heater heaters. Their internal regulators are 20psi so they are technically a hi-pressure burner. The regulator on the tank of the Camp-Inn is a hi-pressure regulator that outputs 20psi. That is why then if you connect...
Steve,
Correct, ignition trigger wire just needs to be a voltage source that the operator can power on and off. That is why we use the running lights. Turning on the running lights powers up the smart alternator circuit.
Cary
Steve,
I suspect running the headlights with a smart alternator has a similar effect by the load of the lights kicking up the alternator which would give more charging available to the car's battery also. It would be a similar effect as the load the smart alternator mode in the CTEK.
Cary
Steve,
Your CTEK has a "Smart Alternator mode" built in. It activate it simply turn your running lights on while driving. The sense lead for turning on the Smart Alternator mode is connected to the running lights and that signal will tell it to turn on. When not in Smart Alternator mode the...
This is usually something caused by a open cooler drain. So, you are not the first to run into this. That area is all silicone sealed but no matter how well sealed around the edge it always seems to find a way to get through.
