Pure Sine Wave Versus Modified Sine Wave For Electric Space Heater?

An electric heater will be just fine with the modified sine wave, especially if it doesn't have a fan. If it has a fan, it depends on what type of motor it has if it will be happy. However, if you plug the shore power plug into the inverter it will power up anything else in the trailer not...

    Dometic Fridge Cover Question

The zipper opens all the way to the hinge, the lid opens easily. We leave it unzipped during meal prep when repeated access is needed, zip it up the rest of the time.

What Amp Extension Cord Do I Need!

You should get a cord with #12 wire, especially if it will be longer than about 15 feet. A #14 cord will be rated at 15 amps, but will get warm, a #12 will be significantly safer.

Camper That Sat For 15 Years - What To Check?

I would pay special attention to the water system. At a minimum, add some Clorox to both tanks and fill with fresh water, then drain, refill, and drain again. At the same time keep an eye to the plumbing under the left galley compartment and under the trailer to check for leaks. The other thing...

    Trailer Dolly

I love my trailer dolly. Makes moving the trailer around the property, into the garage, etc. really easy, but not an option for most. ;)

New Td Battery On Its Way

My new Victron 100Ah battery is installed and tested, and I am super happy. The installation is not for the faint of heart, this battery is slightly bigger than the Camp-Inn original AGM and is best used with the Victron charger. I ordered the battery from Colorado Standby, Victron 12V/100Ah AGM...

    Misc Presents For The Firefly

I have a Mopeka Tank Check Plastic Propane Tank Level Indicator https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082FQS7ZW/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_K2DQDY6VPJNRN79P1H0R. It is a sensor that sticks to the bottom of the tank with a magnet. It senses the level of the propane in the tank with ultrasound, then sends the level...

    Battery When Storing In Garage

Hi John, welcome to the club. I am quite sure that your battery is toast. The arrival voltage is likely because the battery was being charged by your tow vehicle while towing and it managed to get the voltage up, the voltage then drooped from self discharge over the next few days. The 14.3 Volts...

    Trailer Tongue Break

Oh my, I am glad you are safe. That's not supposed to happen, it looks like Camp in is going to make it right. I have never heard of something like that, we have towed on some pretty rough roads in the back country. Good luck and keep us updated with the progress of the repair.

    Lost Nut on Leveling Jack

I agree that using a power driver may shorten the life of the pin, but that won't keep me from doing it. I just keep spare pins and a spare cap in the trailer for when it fails. Not having to crank the jack by hand is worth the trouble of replacing the pin now and then.

    Lost Nut on Leveling Jack

I used a "roll pin", basically a rolled up piece of spring steel, unfortunately I don't remember the size. Take the cap to a hardware store that has those bins of small hardware and find the right size; it should be tight so that you have to use a hammer to push it in. Get more than one and keep...

    Charging Ebike From Teardrop Battery

Hmm, let me modify my answer a bit. Your ebike battery is 48V and 13 Ah, perfectly converted with no efficiency losses, would take 52 Ah from a 12V battery. The battery in your teardrop is something like 70 Ah all in, with actually more like 50 Ah usable without damaging the battery. The best...

    Charging Ebike From Teardrop Battery

What you need is a DC to DC Converter Battery Charger. I did a quick google for "DC to DC Converter Battery Charger 48v" and there are some possibilities. Be sure the charger you get is appropriate for the battery chemistry in you bike.

New Td Battery On Its Way

Well, I mis-spoke the BAT412110081 is not discontinued, just out of stock everywhere I look and not easy to find on their website; you gave me the clue to look for SuperCycle and I found it. I'll keep trying to find stock, but may opt for the Odyssey if I can't get one soon.

New Td Battery On Its Way

Our battery died and I am looking for a replacement. It looks like the Victron BAT412110081 is obsolete, the only Victron batteries that come close to fitting are only 66 Ah. I am bummed as this seems like an excellent technology. Does anyone have a source for the BAT412110081; every place I...

    Battery When Storing In Garage

As CampDude said, you should leave it plugged in all the time when not on the road. The built in charger will keep it in condition. Unfortunately, if the battery has been completely discharged, it is probably damaged. You can plug it in and it will probably charge up and seem to be OK, but its...
