2020 Subaru Ascent

hiadventurer

Junior Ranger
Is anyone towing with a Subaru Ascent. Preparing to use our 2020 to tow our 560 and wondering what size of drop hitch I need to get. Was thinking a 4” drop would do it but after taking a couple of measurements wondering if that is enough. Thought a voice of experience would help here..Thanks in advance for any advise….R

Many Subaru Outbacks here tow...no idea how that affects your model.

IMHO You are on the right track...
attention to detail helps you.

1. load CI and the Subie the way you would haul stuff camping and measure from there...
2. Ask Uhaul to help you.
They have most sizes off the shelf.

3. Do Let us know how it goes, after;
for YOUR setup, from the road.

PS: Note Tour 931's observation that an inch low adds 40# to tongue weight.

I may have been unclear. The 40 pounds is the difference between 2” high and 2” low.

Thanks! My bad...

Fwiw I just cited your tip to a CamperRV store rep who nodded sagely...in re a draw hitch I seem to believe I need with 1 3/4 rise.

Derp!
