560 Foot Room

I've search the threads but I have not found any reference to the foot room. What I would like to know is there any problems with the space above your feet? I looked at a 560 a it appeared to be a little close from the bottom of the cabinet to the top of the bed. I have restless leg syndrome and I sometimes flop around like a fish out of water I know TMI.

is the footroom different in the 560 than the 550?

We have a 550. I am 6'2" with size 13 feet. There is plenty of room for my feet under the cabinet overhang.

The first night, when I rolled over while sleeping, I banged my shin on the bottom of the overhang. Amazingly, your brain figures this out, and you stop banging your shin when you roll over.

Keep in mind that even if you sleep on your back, your toes aren't likely to hit the bottom of the cabinet, because your feet aren't pointing directly up (90 degrees). Your feet are pointed toward 10:00 and 2:00, so to speak, not to 12:00 (straight up)

Perhaps if someone has size 17 feet they'd have an issue, but not size 13 and less, IMO.

Plus, it's better for most of us to sleep on our sides than on our backs, but I understand that each of us has our own physiology and needs.

The 550 and 560 have identical foot room dimensions; that end of the trailer is the same. I have pretty big feet and foot room is not a problem for me, even with the addition of a 1-1/2" mattress topper. I do occasionally knock the underside of the cabinet with my shin when turning from one side to the other, and I have knocked the open storage bin door with a knee - I leave it open to put my night-time stuff (no liquids!) when sleeping.

I think you will find it just fine with a little kinesthetic learning experience.

We have a 560. My husband is 6 ft. He has no problem with foot space. He moves all the time. He moves so much, he could earn a miles badge. If you have a 560, you could always move your pillow up on the couch. We also have a mattress topper. I think your mind does adjust to it.

We have a 560 & have had a 2 inch memory foam mattress topper & thin mattress pad over that on the bed most of the past year. We too have had a few knee bumps on an open storage bin door (we leave our cell phone on the flipped down door for easy access at night) and brushed our toes on the bottom of the cabinet a few times; but nothing bad and as AlCat said, you quickly learn to adjust. We just came back from a 4 day trip & I took the 2 inch memory foam topper off before we left and we just used a plush/thicker/quilted regular mattress pad and we had no bumped knees or toes. And my husband and I both felt this was a better & more comfortable solution to add some comfort to the mattress without adding too much height. Any way you go about it, we love sleeping in our CampInn!
