KOA is alwasy suspect in my book. I find them generally over priced, small, and generally lackluster. This is a journey, so it doesn't have a lot of ammenties. A pool, laundry, and showers. But at $50 a night (when state parks are close to the same) this one stands out. The only downside it ithat it was twisting, narrow roads from the interstate.
I was able to book late in the afternoon online (big plus) when others around were requiring a phone call, was there for late checkin and found my paperwork in order. Went to my spot, plugged in and called it an evening. Being in a highly wooded area, insects were a little bit of a problem, especially as my camp site was right next to a man-made pond. No worse than other places i've stayed.
The only problem I had was their security guard -- black guy, heavily armed, and a whole lot of attitude. He followed me around, and watched me. I think his name was clawed. In the morning he was there waiting. Once I hooked up though, he hid behind a tree and waved goodbye.
