It was one of our favorites. We had reservations to go back this Labor Day but we had to make other plans.

Isn't Yemassee KOA fantastic? I normally do not like KOA at all --- but we had an 'emergency' stop there. We got stuck in traffic in Florida and there was no way we were going to make it to our destination at a reasonable hour. At about 4 we "called" it and started contacting campgrounds on our route. They had 1 site left, right behind the shower/pool area. I think it may have been a tent site. But they allowed is to use it anyway. It was just a one-nighter, and I easily could have easily stayed a day longer. They were so accommodating and friendly, and the site felt like a state park.

We have stayed at Yemassee KOA several times and it’s a great stop/over campground which is very close to I95. Almost to close at night when trying to sleep. The afternoon wine bar happy hour is a great event to meet other campers and conversation. For glamping, they have even retrofitted an old trolly car into a camper.

No worries -- I'm not going to tell you about the KOA in Macon Georgia They are super friendly as well, have hunts brother pizza which they deliver right to your camp site if you are so inclined (as I am after a full day of driving to get there - usually on my way to Florida) and best of all they deliver a complimentary fresh baked chocolate chip cookies to your camp site.

There are some good ones out there! But my lips are sealed!
