NM Cochiti Campground

Located on Cochiti Lake. We were on the Buffalo Grove Loop which appeared to be pretty new looking at the facilities. We were on site 63. This loop is on a hill so the farther from the Bathhouse you are the more up hill you are too. Paved sites with covered, concrete picnic table. grill and lantern with light. None of the lights on our loop came but I could see them on another loop. Not much shade other than the shelter for most sites. Near our site was a pollinator garden that was nice to walk through. Site 53 would be the best site, Great views of the lake and only have another campsite on one side.

Bathhouse was new too. 2 showers with one being handicap accessible. Long bench to put your towel and clothes on. Push button shower on a timer. Water pressure was strange as it changed during the shower. Be prepared it can spray out in a fan when you first start it. They do only clean it on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Great views of the lake and you can see the other campground on the far side of the lake.

There is a boat ramp and a swimming area with picnic tables. The town of Cochiti Lake is nearby. This is a store where you can get gas and ice. 40 minute drive to Santa Fe.

Nice review!
TY.
Anyone familiar with this general AZ-NM 4corners area? Sure is pretty country esp in shoulder seasons if you can plan for/deal with heat/cold in your little glamping land yacht...
(Hint bring a tarp for shade, RTFM)

Has the covid camping on BLM/USFS/State park campgrounds lessened some?
Or do you have to plan ahead weeks for a spot in developed sites?
