550 / 560 Construction Question

I'm not sure where to ask this and haven't seen it addressed anywhere. Why aren't the front and top of the 550's clad in a continuous sheet of aluminum back to the galley hatch hinge? Why so many seams and screw heads?
 
I'm sure Cary will give a full answer to this one, but I know the sunroof plays a factor because it has a slight crown and so one piece of aluminum wouldn't be able to lay flat over it. This may also be true for the front windows of the 550 - not sure because I have a 560. Perhaps another factor is the 5' wide trailer, since most aluminum generally comes 4' wide.

There is a grain to the aluminum - horizontal on the sides and galley hatch. The mill finish grain is not as pronounced as you would find on brushed aluminum, but it's there if you look for it. In my opinion the factory finish is closer to a matte than shiny. If you really want shiny, you can buff yours to a mirror finish. I guess somebody did that once, but then was too afraid to use their trailer after that. :( I'm guessing the aluminum is the same on both sides.

I work with aluminum - but of course I don't build Camp-Inns, so Cary will correct me if I'm wrong. :)
 
Evan hit on a small part of it. To get all the answer give me a call when you can devote an hour or so of time to go over all the technicalities to it. It is a pretty long list. Too long and tiring for me to go over here.
