Experience counts???

So, if you ever try to hook your teardrop to your tow vehicle, and can't, for the life of you, figure out why the trailer has suddenly become so ponderously heavy, that you can't lift the tongue, or push the trailer forward......let us suggest that you save yourself several minutes of umphing and head scratching by checking to see if you have raised the leveling jacks.

So much for 101 nights of experience!

Heheh... sounds like something I would do... while I have the jacks, have yet to use them at all.. but I can see it happening as you described.

Another "Doh !!! " moment experienced/shared by all...
Sigh, learning experiences... don't they EVER stop??? heheh...

fun...

Good thing you had BOTH jacks down or you might have had an easier "struggle" and then managed to drive off....scraping pavement!!

Also, if you can't figure out why your trailer tongue won't "catch" the hitch ball, check to see if you removed the protective rubber ball cover you put on 3 days prior at the IRG4.0 to keep the grease off your clothes.

And how many pairs of pants does it take to remember to cover the ball?
We are up to 2.

As we don't use either a cover or grease, I only had a problem with 1 pair of pants getting greasy...and that was only because we loaned the tear to a friend who greased the ball...

I didn't want to say, but we have never greased the ball, either. Not with the CampInn or any other trailer.

Maybe you could wipe the ball with beeswax, put it in a 450 degree oven for an hour, and repeat.

Before & After pictures to follow.

The real reason I've never gotten grease on the pants is that I take the ball out of the hitch while camping - to avoid the painful banging of my shins!! I've heard that can happen...
