The plastic fire extinguisher bracket broke before our second season of camping. Has anyone come up with a better way to secure the extinguisher in the same or different location?
Measure the extinguisher's diameter. If it is 3 1/4", Home Depot has just the bracket for under $10, and it is all metal. They have another, larger size as well, also $10.
Or, you can buy a new extinguisher for about $20, most of which come with a bracket.
Put the old extinguisher in your car or kitchen cupboard.
I measured, and it is indeed 3.4 inches in diameter, so the 3 1/4" metal bracket should fit. Or, if you buy the one above, it comes with another new plastic bracket.
Thx for your input! Since the main bracket was still good, with only the strap broken, we inserted a piece of wide Velcro under the existing bracket to take the place of the strap. So far, this appears to be working.
