TX Four nights "in Austin"

This was a short (four nights) but locationally interesting work trip/commute. Had to spend four days in Austin for a training visit for our company. But wanted to use the Raindriop. Turns out McKinney Falls State Park is basically in the Austin city limits near the airport on the east side. Ended up being 8 minutes from my work location. Nice falls and swimming hole. Creek fed, but first two nights featured HEAVY thunderstorms so plenty of water flowing. Good hookups and mix of back-in and pull-through sites. Only downside: That area is pretty devoid of restaurants and such, so just FYI

One night in Bankok comes to mind...I've been using AI to develop some work for me...so I thought I'd employ that here. What is being done is truly amazing|frightening.

So I asked AI to help. I've never been there, but the riverwalk in the city looks amazing!!!! Its on my bucket list to be sure.

**Four Nights in Austin**

*(Verse 1)*
Austin, Texas situation,
A city hummin’ with a strange vibration.
South by Southwest, the streets alive,
Music and tacos, where dreams collide.
The bars are open, the bands are tight,
Four nights in Austin, it’s outta sight.
From Sixth Street’s chaos to Zilker’s green,
This town’s a stage for a wilder scene.

*(Chorus)*
Four nights in Austin makes a hard man humble,
Not much between Burnet and the capitol’s rumble.
Get your boots on, feel the heat,
The city’s pulse is a Lone Star beat.
Four nights in Austin, the nights are callin’,
Barbecue smoke and the stars are fallin’.
I can feel the rhythm, it’s where I’m bound,
Austin’s got my heart spinnin’ ‘round and ‘round.

*(Verse 2)*
The food trucks glow in the neon haze,
Queso and brisket, I’m in a daze.
Bat Bridge at dusk, the sky’s alight,
Hippies and hipsters dance in the night.
From Antone’s stage to the Broken Spoke,
The music’s alive with a soulful stroke.
I don’t need chess, no kings or queens,
Austin’s my board for these livin’ dreams.

*(Chorus)*
Four nights in Austin makes a hard man humble,
Not much between Rainey and the food truck jumble.

*(Bridge)*
The river’s flowin’, the vibe’s surreal,
South Congress strummin’, it’s how I feel.
You want some quiet? Go somewhere lame,
Austin’s a fire, it’s fannin’ the flame.
I’d trade a cathedral for a dive bar’s glow,
Where Willie’s ghost sings soft and low.
Four nights in this town, you’ll lose your way,
But find your soul by the break of day.

*(Chorus)*
Four nights in Austin makes a hard man humble,
Not much between Guadalupe and the skyline’s tumble.

*(Outro)*
Four nights in Austin, it’s a cosmic ride,
From Barton Springs to the lakeside.
I came for a visit, but I might just stay,
Austin’s got my heart, it’s stealin’ me away.

This adaptation keeps the spirit of the original song’s witty, observational tone while infusing it with Austin’s iconic landmarks (Sixth Street, South Congress, Zilker Park, Bat Bridge), culture (live music, food trucks, barbecue), and laid-back yet vibrant energy. If you’d like further tweaks, specific references, or a different tone, let me know!

I love a good swimming hole, and that one looks outstanding.

Oooo we are in Abilene! So cool to know another camp-inn is so close! We’ve never been to the falls - I’m going to look at booking now :) thanks for the post
It's a nice way to stay in Austin for whatever non-camping reasons and avoid hotel bills. I hear it really fills up on weekends.

I just want to visit the river walk and maybe take in a bar or two, and a burger. I mean, I don’t want to dwell in 2021, but so much was stolen from the world….everything iv seen from there just looks extraordinary.
