Hunting Island Or Bust

Scored 4 nights at Hunting Island on the coast of South Carolina after being camped out on the reservation site for week or more waiting on someone to cancel. Got lucky today and we'll be there the first week of August. We've been to the park, but this will be the first camping trip there. Looking forward to some good Frogmore Stew, playing in the surf and checking out the the Reconstruction National Park nearby.

After this trip, I know we are at Lee State Park for Labor Day Weekend to go to the Southern 500 NASCAR race in Darlington. We have some other reservations in some of the nearby parks to us in South Carolina into November. A lot of that is subject to our daughter's job search now that she has graduated from Clemson with a Packaging Science degree.

We love Hunting Island! Don’t miss the Low Country Produce & Cafe in Beaufort. We always find Sharks teeth by the lighthouse. The new Bridge just before the campground should be finished by now. Hunting Island has one of the widest beaches we have been to.

We’ve been there once a few a years ago and checked out the campground. It’s a beautiful place. Down at the lagoon we were able to see & hear a dolphin blowing air out of its blowhole. Thanks for the tip on the Low Country Produce & Cafe.

New bridge is open so no more waiting for the drawbridge to get to Harbor Island & Hunting Island. Tried Lowcountry Produce & Cafe & loved it. Thanks for the tip.
