Interesting places

And me without vacation time :) LOL! Sounds like a fun trip. I love obscure stops like this. Maybe not worth a special trip for, but to stop and see the world biggest ball of paint is always a fun stop. Ironically enough, that ball of paint is about 40 minutes north of me -- and I've yet to stop and see it :) Alexandria Indiana....

Rte 66. All the faded Americana including the ruins along bits and pieces of sections of the road where bypassed by the interstate.

Got lost one time taking Google Map directions to Petrified Forest...being lost on obscure gravel roads in the rez after dark is always interesting...been there done that.

I give myself credit for recognizing it would not be prudent to press on by driving on the RR tracks service road and instead go back the way I came...

There is a very cool place to free camp on the south end if you dont mind getting water from a spigot and washing up in a rusty horse water trough while parking on a gopher field...
