Mt. Spokane State Park

Not every campground is a vacation destination spot but nice for a weekend outing, this is one of those. This is located half an hour north of Spokane WA. I have yet to actually camp here but I have visited and will camp here next summer with the raindrop. The campground is fairly primitive but you are near the top of the mountain. There are lots of trails but be ready for a lot of elevation change. There is a great shelter at the very top which we have used for picnics and a trail head and the view is very nice. In the winter there is snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and skiing.
