Oshkosh via Neceedah

I went to the Oshkosh air show about a month ago, and since one of the possible routes to get there went right through Neceedah, so I made plans. and time in my schedule to make a stop by the factory.

I barely got in the door, and Cary, Craig, and Marty were there to greet me. The first thing they wanted to do was to go out and take a look at the Camp-Inn 550 Ultra that we had purchased not even a month earlier. After complimenting Dale Albee for the nice care he had taken of the TD before we bought it, the next thing was to suggest some upgrades that either weren't available when our unit was built, or had been improved since, along with some routine maintenance.
What was really nice was that even though I had made no appointment to be there, they realized that coming back for an additional visit would be a lot of extra driving, so they had me pull the TD into the shop, and dug in on getting things done right then and there.

While the work got started Craig gave me a quick tour of the production line, and even a few tips on how the insides were laid out, so I would have an easier time with some upgrades I am considering doing myself.
Craig ( not the co-owner, but one of the regular shop staff) jacked up the trailer, pulled off the wheels, and re-adjusted the suspension, which tends to sag a bit over the first few years, and is said to be a one time needed adjustment. While he was doing that, Marty and several other members of the shop staff, started replacing the door, and hatch seals, which had all shrunk away from where they originally started and ended their routes. They said the new seal material they now use doesn't tend to do that.

I had decided to remove the older little 9 in. analog, tube type TV/ DVD player that came with our unit, and replace it with a retractable shelf I built for our laptop that pulls out of the lower part of the old TV compartment, and also built a divider to give us some extra storage space in the upper part of that same compartment, along with doors for both compartment to match the other storage compartment doors. I couldn't find matching cabinet hardware elsewhere however, but I was able to purchase that at the factory too, and they were even able to install the hardware on the doors while I waited.

We opted for the new style kitchen faucet, and back-splash upgrades as well, but they were out of the back-splash's. They sent the faucet kit with me, and said they would send the back-splash to me if I wasn't able to make it back there on my way home from Oshkosh since I felt comfortable on being able to install it myself after some installation tips before I left.

After 3 days of very comfortable camping, and lots of fun at the airshow, I decided to head home on Friday morning. I got to Neceedah at around noon, and the new shipment of back-splashes had arrived, so once again Marty and his crew dug in, and got the faucet, and back-splash installed , and had me back on my way home in no time.

I can't say enough about how nice, and helpful everyone there was. I didn't get to talk to Cary long since he had an appointment before heading to Oshkosh himself, and I didn't get to meet Betsy either, which I was looking forward to after reading her posts here in the forum, so will have to save that for another visit.

So if you bought your Camp-Inn from someone else or didn't get to see the factory when you picked yours up, don't miss out on any opportunity you might have to stop by for a visit....you won't be disappointed.
