We have now changed our Fall camping/backpacking destination for the 3rd time - due to our kids/friends whims (i.e., leaving the country, oral surgery, weddings...). We are currently looking at the Allegheny National Forest area during the early part of October. I did find what looks like a good site Pennsylvanis Hikes that lists some nice looking trails. We'll be taking the teardrop and will probably backpack only 2 nights of the 7 or 8 day trip. A moderately strenuous loop hike would be great, as we are old and weak.
