Just wanted to share this in case anybody with the TV option was not aware.
It is possible to watch downloaded AVI video files on the TV by plugging in a USB and selecting USB as the media input in the DVD menu.
I wish I had know this before as we watch a lot of downloaded UK tv programs and I had brought a small switch box which allowed the files to be watched via the composite video or HDMI input.
Now I will just sit a hard disk full of files on the shelve behind the TV and have a whole library of programs with no power or video wiring to worry about.
