The current SSL certificate expires on January 1, 2026. It should auto-renew automatically.
If the site shows as “Not Secure” after that day, you can temporarily bypass the warning by searching Google for:

Need Help We seemed to have been hacked

There seems to be a message posted in Cyrillic on most if not all of the forum topics.

Need to ban them?

The bots have found their way into this forum. They are constantly popping up. Not sure the solution but sure would like to get rid of them for good.

I've been denying virtually every new member request lately in an attempt to keep a lid on the spam. Maybe the trick is denying 100% for a short time to see if that solves the problem. It's a pain for sure...

Can’t you just require some captcha to prove a real person? Hate to see real folks turned away.

I've seen that used on other sites John, unfortunately I didn't put this forum together and I don't have the back end familiarity with this software to know if it's even possible.

Until these recent ones, most of the spammers have been pretty obvious. They're getting better at camouflaging emails.

I agree that it would be better to prevent hackers or bots than real people. Would you mind sharing what software thebforum uses and I could research.

The link is at the bottom of every page.

It looks like we may be 5 yrs. out of date. We could get 12 mos. of updates for $55, includes new spam & security updates including Captcha. We could have Xenforo install it for $50.

It may require time in training for moderators.

If true, 5 yrs. is a long long time with no updates.

I agree looks outdated and latest stable build looks to be about 2 months ago. I think most people are used to captcha so would be a hinderance.

Oh cr**. 45 minutes later we’re spammed again.

No one can get onto the forum without being 'approved first & I've not admitted any new members into the forum since I cleaned out the last batch of spam. I was not aware of any other moderators being able to regulate membership, but I must not be the only person with that ability...
