Our second night of camping in our new 550 was at Wyalusing State Park following a recommendation from Craig. Even though it rained most of the day and night we could not have had a better time in our teardrop. This is site 155, at the west end of the Wisconsin Ridge campground, 500 feet above the confluence Wisconsin and Mississippi rivers. There is another campground nestled down in the forest with a completely different feel. This is a beautiful place.
A Wyalusing sky with the Mississippi in the distance.
You do spend a lot of time staring into that space, with Prairie du Chien in the background.
Trains crossing the wetlands below were a frequent sight.
This view, from the Walmart parking lot across the Wisconsin river to the north of the park, gives you a sense of the unique nature of the Ridge campground. Our site, #155, was just to the right of the tiny blue tent in the center.
