I just noticed that you have the cooler-cozy from Camp-Inn on your cooler. We bought one but haven't used it yet - have you found your ice lasting longer?

Great shots guys! An awesome place to visit. We camped there in the spring of 2000 with our 2 youngest kids and they still talk about how much they enjoyed that trip (they're 25 & 27 now).
Looks like you're off to a great start!

  5. Kathy & Bob—to be honest, we haven't used the cooler yet without it so I can't give you a true comparison. But overall we're glad we have it. It just seems to make the whole process pretty easy in terms of sliding the cooler in and out and cooler condensation doesn't get wiped on everything either.

  6. Thanks Ken & Peggy! I think we'll be talking about it a while too and definitely looking to get back for a longer trip when we can.

To post some results of the cooler cozy from camp inn:

We have used ours on two camping trips in May and June. On each trip it seems to extend the ice at least 24 hours and up to 48 hours beyond what would have been normal (4 years use). The one thing we would have liked is if the outer shell was water proof since we leave it on the side table each night. It is under our quick shade but you never know which way the wind is blowing. We have found a water proof slip over cover which we will try on our next trip in another week. We will post the results after this third test.

Thank for the feedback. We take off for Alaska in early August so that will be a good test!

Third test of cooler cozy. Jim H & Sue Z

Last weekend we had some mid ninety degree weather for a really good test. We loaded the cooler with items that had been in the fridge for twenty-four hours. No warm item to absorb the ice. We put in three zip lock bags of ice made during the week. This amount of ice is typically good for 24 hours after which we usually add a 5 pound bag. Even with the hotter than usual weather when we checked we found most of our ice was still present. When checked the next day we still had half our initial ice but added a 5 pound bag because we will be gone all day. So we would say the cozy buys you round 24 hours minimum additional ice time. We did get to try our water proof cover this past weekend as well and it worked very well as well. Bottom line we are recommending both items for those looking for this kind of performance. The storm cover came from one of those garden supply catalogues.
