Why I Am Trying To Get Out As Often As Possible This Year.

I really enjoyed the clip. I often wonder if my 14 year old golden will make another trip. She's probably wondering the same thing about me. George

    Lots of opinions on Canopies

Jim, We've been using that SUV tent for 6 years now. We liked it so much that we bought a second one for when the first one wears out. I see that you are west on the PA turnpike. We are in Carlisle. If you get this way, give me a call (717-501-5142) and I'll show you how to use your...

    Lots of opinions on Canopies

Hi Anne-Marie, If you look on page 8, towards the bottom, of "Lots of Opinions on Canopies" you will see my Napier SUV tent at -2 below zero. It works great in the summer as well with all the screens. I liked it so much that I bought another used one for the time that this one wears out...

    12v Electric Blanket

Hey everyone, Its been a long time. I purchased 2 of these blankets in 2012 when we purchased the teardrop. We don't use them much on the bed, and we do mostly fall & winter camping, it gets to warm for us. I have left it on all night when I was camping alone and don't recall any super...

    Lots of opinions on Canopies

Hey Mattster, I hope everyone has a sense of humor. Don't look now; I think you just invented the SUV tent! :) Aren't you afraid that “it overheats the galley hatch”? :) Or worse yet, “could this also create an asphyxiation hazard”? :)“It really is a fairly small space inside one of these”...

Yes Smoke, Yes Stove, Yes Floor and Yes cozy. That night it was 1*F outside, 44*F in the cabin and 76*F at table height in the tent. It had to be 85 at head level! George

    Lots of opinions on Canopies

Here's a follow up on the SUV tent. Excellent!! I can go 12 months now. No hatch "over heating" or "asphyxiation". With a little modification, you can use the side table.

    Grill'n... No Gas/electric/wood...

Frank, Have you considered putting a small wood stove in your tent? I did this fall and am enjoying a cozy tent in the snow. If you are interested, there is a guy in Colorado (Bear Paw Tents) that will sell you the chimney jack and he has a great YouTube on how to install it. It's real...

    Hopeful Tearjerker

Frank, I think you will find your solution to the propane problem here. (http://www.wardburner.com/tankfreeze.html). The whiskey sounds good too. George

    Hopeful Tearjerker

Frank, How cold are you camping in? It is true that propane will not turn to gas at extreme temperatures but I found that to be -30f and colder. We would put an old army blanket over the top of the tank. On real cold days, a 40w light bulb next to the regulator. One time when we didn't...

    Hopeful Tearjerker

Frank, And of course, you are familiar with the propane powered version of your blender? The one I observed was for only one flavor at a time. Very noisy but doesn't need electric. George

    Single cup coffee makers

Mike, Welcome back to the states. Here's a linkhttp://www.amazon.com/Fox-Run-5068-Heat-Diffuser/dp/B001ET5ZPQ. The removable handle is nice since mine burnt off. You don't need a handle anyway. You leave them in place until done cooking. If you don't like this one, Google "pot...

    Air Commander, Huh?

Hey Frank, My TV and I are the same age and are getting a little loose and soft in the rear suspension so I put a set of air bags on the back of my rig last year and they work great. I can pump them up to 100#'s. Nice for when I have to get underneath. You don't want to run down the...
