Itinerary Beaver Bend Ok. Camp Out

Just made our reservations for Beaver Bend Ok. camp out the end of March. The whole camp ground has been reserved by the organizers of this event. Sites are $25. a night. It sounds like you won't know what site you have till you get there, that is just fine, adds to the anticipation. :)

    Ron's cooler cover

CI cooler cover. We stopped by CI on Monday to say hey as we were passing through. If anyone is considering a CI cooler cover but not sure without seeing it first. Lets just say it is in keeping with CI tradition of innovation. It has a zippered top so you can get in the cooler without taking...

    Uh oh

Do you not have any water in your tanks and water lines to keep them from freezing? I don't have a problem camping in colder temps but I sure wouldn't want to freeze the pump or lines. Do you carry RV antifreeze with you and winterize or just not use the sink and pump when you know temps are...

    Ron's cooler cover

Sue, The cover is old (but clean blue jeans:D ) the insulation is a Sun shade that would normally be put in a cars windshield to block heat. The one we used was aluminized on both sides with double bubble air pocket honeycomb. Got it at a flee market for a couple bucks. p.s I thought her idea...

    Announcement Awaiting Our Contract!!

Congratulations. The really hard part for us has been after getting ours home in Oct. Has been having it parked in the garage and having to wait till March to use it again. I have about wore the galley hatch and door hinges out with my frequent inspections, just can't walk by it without...

    Solar

Billy, There are any number of panels on the market. If you are getting the solar option wiring in your camper I don't believe you need a controller on the panel because the camper will come with a Morningstar controller as part of the solar option. Most panels should come with wire leads on...

    Solar

Billy, Most new panels today should come with what they call an MC4 cable plug in. MC4 cable comes in different lengths with a female end on one end and a male end on the other. Say you get a 30 ft. cable, cut it in 1/2. Will then give you 15ft. of cable. The longer the cable the less...

Prophetstown campout Oct. & Maiden voyage

Jenn, I really like the Kelty once it is up. It is not the easiest to put up at first. But once you figure out the pattern it is not bad. It is a very tight fit. We were in some pretty good rain with it on our first trip and it seemed to let the water run off well without pooling. We did not do...

Are there any other bicyclist & Campinn owners?

We plan to take our bikes with but my problem is, I don't want them outside my vehicle. I don't want to put them in the camper and was hoping they would stand up inside our Grand Cherokee but we found out they won't without taking both wheels off, which isn't a huge problem but I will have to...

    Why cats don't camp

Here kitty, kitty. You're lucky that coon didn't decide he had found a nice warm place to spend the night. It sounds like a tear in the side tent was pretty minor as to what could have happened.

    Ron's cooler cover

Becky made a cooler cover with double bubble insulation that has aluminum foil on both sides and then put it inside a denim cover made from old blue jeans. She made a lid on the cover so we can access the cooler without having to take the cover off.

    Question from a tour

After further inspection on the frame the part that is stamped "Made in China" is actually on the part that accepts the ball. That is welded on to the actual frame. Where the frame comes together just in front of the LP tank. I had just assummed that since the part was stamped "Made in China"...

    Storage Question

Today I jacked ours up a bit more to get the tires to spin and spun them for a couple minutes. Thanks for the idea.
