    Caution

Hi Sue & Jim, Glad your relatives are safe. It wasn't too bad here in southern Maine, a lot of power outages and downed trees or branches. It seems a whole lot worse south of us! Charlie

    Easy undercounter storage

You should be able to get the baskets at Target. I think that is where Karin got hers and we got some there as well. I used screws for the install. It is an awesome idea that Karin had! (we used black baskets) Charlie

    Newly acquired Krumkake iron

I'm with you Sue...Rats! I'll have to see a beekeeper friend I know today to see if he has any beeswax. The package I got said it was pure refined beeswax. But the finish is definitely not shiny after three coats. George or Betsy, I'm just curious to know if there are other uses for beeswax...

I guess I will have to heed that advice as well. My skillet seems to have a flat finish also. Thanks George! Charlie

Thanks Betsy. I was planning on at least three coats. What do you or George recommend for number of coats of beeswax? Charlie

    Newly acquired Krumkake iron

Hi George, I just did a first coat with beeswax on a skillet. It appears to be much more of a black color than a brown color like the Crisco seasoned pans. Is that normal? The beeswax smelled like honey when I put it on the skillet! Charlie

    Newly acquired Krumkake iron

Hi Sue, I have been putting them through the electrolysis for about 8 hours, then give them a scrub. I have had to run a couple of them through the juice a second time. I think if they were just rusty, they would clean a lot easier. Charlie

    Newly acquired Krumkake iron

Hi Sue, I was nervous about trying the electrolysis method too, but seeing Ken's pieces all done inspired me to try it. It does work quite nicely. By the way, I do enjoy your writings immensely! Charlie

    Newly acquired Krumkake iron

Hi Kathy, We agree with you about the glass top stove. It is easy to clean though. The next stove will be gas. Charlie

    Newly acquired Krumkake iron

Hi Kathy, We are just going by our owners manual for our stove. Our manual just says that cast iron is not recommended because it retains excessive heat and may damage the cooktop. So we didn't want to risk damaging the glass top because they are quite expensive to replace. Check your owners...
