    one gallon water storage

Polyethylene is about the most inert stuff out there. No plasticizers added that could leach out. Don't fret.

New Option For Fully Charging An Agm Battery

Now that I finished installing a Ctek DC-DC charger into my trailer last night, I see a notice from Renogy about their new charger. If you already have solar with a charge controller, this looks like it will do the same job as the Ctek for less than half the money. Functions as a battery...

Best Towing Cars - Us New & World Article

That's why I traded in my 4 cyl. for a new 6 cyl. Outback. It does a lot better and is way nicer to drive with or without the trailer. I have an old 2004 Pilot that I tow with also. I added a transmission oil cooler to it though, because I heard the transmissions on the older ones were the weak...

    Campinn In Tent Sites

When in campgrounds I always take the tent sites and have never had a problem. Recently we camped at the Belknap campground in the southern Sierras (an outstanding place, BTW) where bold print specifies "Trailers are not permitted!" due to the tight curves in there. I called the forest service...

Side Tent Side Tent On Concrete Solution

There was another post here long ago where someone cut 2 pieces of plywood for a floor and gave the dimensions. I did that and have used it for years now. Works anywhere and I never use stakes anymore. The plywood boards are shoved under the mattress when we pack up. I put on a couple coats of...

What Do You Do With The Bike Rack At The Campground?

No. I'm sorry I should have said that I got 28 on that recent trip without the trailer. That was mostly driving across the deserts of California, Utah and Nevada but it did include a loop through Colorado from the four corners to Denver, Steamboat Springs and home, so there was mountain driving...

What Do You Do With The Bike Rack At The Campground?

I sold our 2012 2.5 and got a new 2018 3.6. We tow a 550 with it. I mentioned elsewhere here that I found it much better for towing in mountains and it's also quieter, smoother and just nicer to drive with or without the trailer. We just took a 2500 mile trip doing from 70, to 80 through NV, UT...

What Do You Do With The Bike Rack At The Campground?

We have an Outback and I recently got a double receiver hitch to use for a bike rack. I drove it from L.A. to Yosemite and it works pretty well, though with 2 bikes on there it gets a little cramped.

    Extra Keys

Huh? Cabin key and galley key are not the same blank. I did as you said and the one they made for the galley doesn't work. It won't even go in the slot.

Is Subaru Outback 4 cylinder sufficient?

Here is one more 2 cent opinion on this old thread. I just sold my 4 cyl. Outback and bought a new 6. I was never too happy with the way it towed in the mountains as it just seemed like too much strain on the small motor. The 6 costs a good chunk of change more but we are so happy with it...

    Bal Leveler

Another solution for you is to use a rechargeable 18V drill with a socket bit to drive those jacks. That was discussed somewhere on the forum previously and is where I got the idea. It works great. When dirt gets in those threads and the trailer is loaded it's the only way to go.

    Galley Sun Shade

This is changing the subject on this old thread, but I noticed in your pictures, Inn42 that you propped up your side table by triangulating the leg and placing it up against the bumper mount. Did you add anything there to make it more secure? This looks like a good trick for uneven ground but I...

    Issue with Dometic Fridge

Evan, we never heard what the verdict was on your fridge. Mine is just the same, runs but just gets hotter.

    Dometic, or another brand?

I have to add that I have had repeated problems with my Dometic. I've replaced the circuit board in it twice now and it has quit again. I'm considering springing for the Snomaster that is a lot of money but people say it is worth it. It will not quite fit in the kitchen nook though, so it would...

    Dometic In Bear Country

Off the subject a little, but Brian and Lucy, does that SnoMaster fridge fit in the space in the trailer? I had to replace the circuit board for the 2nd time in my Dometic this summer and now I find it working but will not get cold. I think I've had it with this fridge and that Snomaster, though...

    Fridge / Cooler Dometic Cf35

Yeah, my Dometic went a year before the controller board went out and the buttons would not respond. I replaced it myself and the fridge is still going 3 years since then. I think I just did a search for the part no. on the web.

    Dometic In Bear Country

I've had my trailer in both Yellowstone and Yosemite. Rangers in Yellowstone assured me that they don't have quite the bear problem that Yosemite has (or maybe had?). They said it would be OK in the locked galley but you won't hear that from a ranger at Yosemite where they are adamant about...

    Combo Smoke Detector

I've had my trailer for 5 years now, and the CO detector that was part of my build has started a red-red, green-green light routine and a beep every few minutes. On the panel it says that the detector must be replaced every 60 mos. I think, so I guess that is what it is telling me. Can't see how...

    Windows Front Window Thoughts

As far as light goes, you will get much more light in from the ceiling vent/sunroof than from those windows if the shades are drawn. Sometimes I've lain there trying to dream up a way to curtain off the sunroof if we wanted to sleep later.

    Galley Ventilation

A fan going with no vent would just add more heat. I've thought about this too but I can't say I've come up with any easy answers. The space really does need to be vented, especially with a fridge in there but I think it would have to be designed in from the start. You would also need to be...
