    The Sincerest Form Of Flattery

...is imitation. Maybe this site has been posted before, but these two built a nice teardrop that is clearly modeled on the Camp Inn. I have to say I always thought this was a better way to do the tables so that one is not in the way of the sink. Nice website too.

    Fridge / Cooler 12v/120v Freezer/fridge

Cosmo, if you are using 3 100W solar panels, I can't imagine you would have any trouble running a fridge and keeping your battery happy. I have the Dometic and I get along pretty well with just a 100W suitcase solar setup. Been on week long trips with it and haven't run down the battery yet.

Inquiry Socal Or Central Coast Tear/raindrop Meet-up

Hey, we're in. Haven't been to gathering out here for quite a while and that would be good area to do it. Maybe one other spot to consider would be at the south end of Rt. 1/Big Sur at Plaskett Creek where there is a group site or two.

    Weak Gas Flow

Never mind... I think I found the answer: How do I reset the regulator on my gas grill? Reset the regulator by turning off the burners on your gas grill. Turn off the propane tank and disconnect the hose from the tank. With your gas grill lid open, turn the burner knobs to high for about two...

    Weak Gas Flow

Anyone have a problem with weak gas flow to the stove? Sometimes, I'll start the stove and can't get more than a tiny flame out of it. After a long enough time, it generally comes up and works normally. Plenty of gas in the tank and all fittings are tight as far as I can see. All I can think of...

    iPad shelf.

Here is an idea for an Ipad or tablet mount. I used it in my trailer but I don't have the TV installed.

    Dometic/novakool Troubleshooting Help Needed

Sounds like it could be anything. "Error" is not too specific. On mine I was unable to adjust temperature at one point. I was able to replace the circuit board in the fridge and it fixed the problem. Might work here but it might not. Gee, that was helpful, wasn't it?

    Solar Hookup Solar Hookup Questions

Something I haven't seen mentioned in the controller discussion is rain. I didn't get the solar option on the trailer so I added a 12V outlet in the side of the trailer behind the battery and bought the Renogy suitcase with controller. The only problem is that the controller on the suitcase is...

    Sun flare Thin Solar Panels

Speaking of solar BTW, Renogy makes a very nice 100W solar suitcase and they are 10% off on sale for Memorial Day if anyone is sitting on the fence.

    Death Valley 2016

We have a campsite at Furnace Creek this weekend. I'm wondering if there are any flowers left, probably just at the higher elevations.

    Best tow vehicle?

We also tow with the 4cyl Outback with CVT. It is fine as long as you aren't climbing a lot of mountains. The 6 wasn't available with CVT when I bought mine and it got much worse mileage. If I were to do it again now, I'd get the 6 cylinder which gets better mileage with the CVT than it used to...

    Solar panel

I've looked at a lot of posts on solar panels but still have a question about what wattage I need to keep up with a refrigerator. I will probably get a 100W unit but has anyone with a Dometic fridge done a week trip with that setup and kept their battery adequately alive?

    Side Tent Poles

Nobody has mentioned the fact that you lubricated the poles. That oil will get around and the sliders work by friction. You'll need to clean off the oil and then I don't think you will have a problem.

    Watchman Campground (Zion NP)

If you are in that area in the summer, a good option is the little campground in Kanaraville, at a little higher and cooler elevation between Cedar City and Hurricane. Full hookups, grassy and shady and uncrowded.

    Replacing Battery - any advice?

The main thing is that it must be exactly the size of the original one or it will not fit, take it from me. That may leave you with the original one as your best (or only) option.

    New Mexico Suggestions

A place most people probably miss, but that I found fascinating is El Morro National Monument. It's a bit out of the way south of Rt. 40 but still easy to get to. There is a campground there also. Check it out.

    Trip to Baja

No, I didn't have any problems. For the most part the highway is good. There are a few places where you need to slow down where it goes through a wash that could have water there during rains, but there are warnings. The highway is narrower than a US one so you are on your toes passing semis...

    Trip to Baja

Last month we took a trip I've wanted to do for 20 years down to the lagoons in Baja where the Gray Whales go to mate and deliver babies. It's the only place on Earth where whales (or any wild animal, for that matter) will approach humans for a purely social interaction. Although single whales...

    Solar

Looking into Renogy's suitcase 100W kit, they say the following: Please Note: This is a Positive Ground Charge Controller. If grounding is necessary, it must be completed on the positive line. If the controller is to be used on a vehicle which has battery negative on the chassis, loads...

    Some Additions to the Guidon

Nice. The table in front of the sink has been one of the few little annoyances we have found. Any pictures of the CI version? Does it disassemble or fold up?
