    Itinerary 2011 Nw Camp-inn Round Up - It's Official!

Indeed, the campout was great. You had signs out? I'm glad my navfree software actually knew where the campground was. I really enjoyed all of the sharing of tips, tricks, glowsticks and mudslides. Jonathan and Morgan loved it too!

    Itinerary 2011 Nw Camp-inn Round Up - It's Official!

I've gone through a few iterations and for various reasons, including my 8 year old wanting to go to an overnight camp that doesn't get done until Friday, this is my plan: Wife is not coming. Me and the boys, Morgan(3) and Jonathan(8) will pack up and go sometime on Friday, hoping to get...

    Ideal Tow Vehicle

Personally, Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen turbodiesel. 42mpg highway, 246nm torque, likely get north of 30mpg towing a camp-inn. If they'd bring the Subaru diesel engine to the US, I'd go for that, but they seem to be not doing so. We've got a Honda CR-V now. Wife wants to upgrade to a...

Here's an option we all might want

Gee, all I did was buy a cheap stick blender (immersion blender). Much more compact and travels well. I have a little inverter that I pull out for it or my coffee grinder if I'm on battery, and it does the trick.

Inquiry First Annual Nw Camp-inn Round Up - Ideas...

Re: First Annual NW Camp-Inn Round Up! Nice idea, but I looked it up, and La Wis Wis campground is a 7.5 hour drive from me, which is 2 days up and 2 days back... too much for a long weekend. Perhaps a location more central? Google: Campgrounds near Mt. Hood, OR, and tell me if there are...

    Update Camp-inn #375 Delivered

I found that the package of chammies that I bought was used mainly for packing the cast-iron among other heavy things.... good to have quite a few dish-towelish things to be used as "moving rugs". That was 20 miles in and 20 miles back out, and the south exit 20 miles out was as rough a road...

    Update Camp-inn #375 Delivered

Just got back from our 3 week road trip... hit a bunch of national parks... Lassen, Great Basin, Canyonlands, Mesa Verde, Chaco Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Lake Meade, Death Valley, and home again (and some places in-between). Need to provide pictures and other details. Quick tip: Don't leave...

    Update Camp-inn #375 Delivered

Got it on Sunday, July 18th... the day before my wife's birthday. Happy birthday.

    Greetings from Central Washington

That's the same truck that just delivered my 560 this morning. All is mostly well, but I appear to have some vehicle wiring issues. Brake lights and backup lights don't work. I can skip the backup lights, but gotta get the brake lights fixed before I go anywhere... looking at the diagram, I...

    Portable Toilets

I also went with the PETT after looking around quite a bit... much more compact than the more deluxe looking port-a-potties. However, I have not even unboxed it yet, so I can't really recommend yet. The trucking company called me, and my camp-inn arrives tomorrow. I'm not sure I'll sleep...

    UT Moab Campsites

Re: Good campground near Moab, UT? I have not actually been to Lassen yet, but look forward to it. I have a 7 year old and a 2.5 year old, so we're looking for some not-too-challenging hikes/walks.

    UT Moab Campsites

Re: Good campground near Moab, UT? Well... my trailer left Camp-inn this morning on a truck. I'm the second delivery... the first is going to Yakima, WA. I hope to leave a week from Saturday (7/24) headed from Ashland, OR to reach near Antonito, CO on Sunday August 1st. I need to be at...

    UT Moab Campsites

Re: Good campground near Moab, UT? Almost forgot... I should give honourable mention to Warner Lake Campground. While it does not appear to have swimming or electricity, it's at 9,600', and the altitude would likely bring down the temperatures.

    UT Moab Campsites

Re: Good campground near Moab, UT? I should summarize my findings: I was looking for an "ideal" campground. To me, this involved having all of 3 things: 1) Being in a beautiful area / not in town 2) Having Electricity 3) Having swimming I could only find combinations of 2 out of the...

    UT Moab Campsites

Re: Good campground near Moab, UT? Thanks for pointing out that Dead Horse Point had electricity... I ended up going for it, even though there was no pool. The views just looked too nice to miss. We'll stay there two nights, and have a day or more to go explore Arches and Canyonlands. I...

    Solar Panel Project

Re: Crock Pot You know, I researched crock pots and had the idea to have one that I could plug in and be cooking while driving (Cary suggested one might fit in the sink and thus not move around much). However, I went with a thermal cooker instead. I went for the 5.5L Oyama Thermal Cooker...

    UT Moab Campsites

Good campground near Moab, UT? AAA seems to recommend a couple of RV resorts or the KOA. It seems like the more remote and beautiful do not have services, and in town may be the only place with both. I'm looking at Moab Valley RV Resort as an in town location. While AAA TripTik claims that...

    UT Moab Campsites

Hi all, I'm attempting to work out my road trip, and right now I'm looking at 2 nights near Moab so we can visit both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. This area is hot, so I'm hoping for a camp with electricity to run the AC plus swimming. Has anyone been there and have any...
