Trip to Florida taking place...Logistics bolluxed

Hey Jeff, We stayed at the RV Resort in Roanoke Rapids NC. Easy on and off 95 (get directions off their website), clean restrooms and they have after hours self check in sites for $30 with electric and water. We stayed there on just a couple of days ago. Hope you are enjoying your trailer...

Hitching up and traveling to warmer parts

Hi all, We have had it with the cold weather and are leaving Newbury MA and heading south. We will travel quickly (staying in hotels) until the overnight temperature are above freezing at which point we will start camping. We were camping last December and the AM temperature was 15 degrees...

    How far do you go...

We usually plan no more than about 350 miles a day on the road. We then have plenty of time to stop along the way, allows for traffic and road construction delays and still arrive at our destination well before dark. . On the day we leave or arrive home, we sometimes go as far as 500 miles...

    Roku

We have the very very basic Comcast cable which is about $12 per month and Netflix streaming with 2 dvd's per month for $13. We also have a Verizon DSL line which runs about $22 per month. We have an HDMI connection from the iPad to the TV. Using the iPad and wifi router, we can watch any...

    help moving a trailer

I use the pipe to take the weight off the wheel so that the wheel can then be positioned in the direction you want the move the trailer. It really helps when trying to get the tongue over the ball especially on dirt.

    Coobscook Bay

We just got back from Cobscook Bay State Park. Bring your bug spray, the salt marsh mesquitoes are ferocious. For those on you not familiar with salt marsh mosquitoes, they attack you just about 24 hours a day. Stop by Helen's in Machais, they have the BEST pie especially the fresh...

    Assistance moving the TD

I found it very difficult to move the trailer over the ball when leaving a campsite (especially on dirt). So I cut a piece of PVC pipe that is a little more than the distance between the ground and the top of the ball. When I want to move the trailer in a certain direction by hand, I lower...

    New Subaru Outback!

We have a 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5 premium and faced with the same decision as you now face, decided to go with a local trailer shop recommended by the Subaru dealer. When we arrived at Camp Inn to pick up the trailer in May 2013, Cary did not think the ground wire was thick enough so he...

    Side Tent Side Tent

We love the side tent and won't leave home without it. The PVC frame for the floor works great. It's a great place to store your shoes and to keep wet clothes and / or umbrellas. Just purchased a small Thetford porta-potty and will be using it the the side tent on our trip to Grand Isle State...

We picked up #581, a 560 ultra, on Wednesday after driving for 3 days from MA. Cary was great going over all the features and correcting a wiring problem with the hitch ground. We held off on purchasing things in advance but did stop at Costco today for a mattress topper. Neither of us had...
